But blessed are your eyes for they see and your ears for they hear.
truly I say to you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see and did not see ,and hear what you hear and did not hear it.

Rambler are you quoting from actual scripture? I will assume Matthew, 13:16? It might be helpful if you stipulate which scripture when you quote from it as some may believe you are just giving a revelation of thoughts. If we hear and see from our heart, we see much that of what God intended for us in our life. Hugs -

yeah its scripture. Jesus was talking to his disciples about parables but rember when he took them up to the mountain and gave them visions where they saw Moses and Abraham and someone else who had already passed to heaven. -

rambler...I am not connecting on the point you were trying to make with the scripture in which Jesus tells the twelve of the revelation of Himself.
I personally don't believe that applies to us and I'll tell you why. He told them that blessed are they because they can see and hear Him with their eyes, (which means being able to watch His dealings with people and see His personality and heart in person). The people before never got to have that. No longer did they (as the prophets and people before He came in the flesh) have to rely on someone else's "revelation," or "vision," or "prophetic word" to see this "life." They got to experience "the Word made flesh" (I John 1:1-2) before their own eyes. We today don't have that and 2000 years later have to trust the canon of man to determine what documents are correct and accurate. Most people look to the majority who agree on the same thing and go with that, like a flock of swine. That is what I call uncertainty or fear (NOT love-based from free choice).
Jesus later appears to the same disciples from the beginning exhortations (about seeing and hearing). After He "resurrected from the grave" He went directly to Thomas who just moments before told everyone they wouldn't believe unless he saw Jesus resurrected (John 20:24-29). Jesus appears in the room and tells Thomas, "Because you have seen me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see me and yet believed." It is interesting how He exhorted them calling them blessed for being able to use their eyes and senses to see Him, but now says that it is an actual hindrance and opposition to their relationship with Him to SEE with their eyes and HEAR with their ears.
