Hello! I'm new to the site and I'm wondering...how do you add friends? Is there a certain etiquette to requesting friends? I'm pretty clueless!

Hi, JM, sorry you are befuddled, let's see if we can correct that!

There's several ways that you get friends. One is to watch different discussion posts and if you like what a person says, just click on their avatar and ask to add as a friend. When you ask to be a friend, there's a little bit of room for you to write something. Often, I will point out something we have in common, or something that they said that I like.

If you start posting replies or start a discussion post, it gets other people's attention and they ask YOU to be a friend.

Another idea is to look at the members lists (click on the menu bar on the upper right) and just look at people that interest you. For example, I noticed that you are a 30 year old mom w/3 kids. If you would like to connect with somebody who is in a similar situation as you, with little ones and trying to fight your way through this life with MS, just click on their profile, ask to be a friend.

There's no do's or don'ts, just jump into the pool! You are off to a great start and will have plenty of friends in no time at all!

welcome JMRiver. usually when I want to add a friend I send them a hug and ask if I can add them as a friend. Then if they say yes I follow the little prompts for adding friends on the page of their profile...under their pic it sayd add as friend(or something like that LOL)
