Dear Theresa,
Oh, what a terribly painful situation. I'm so so sorry. I'm sure Angel was an incredible cockapoo and your story breaks my heart. I'm sure Angel felt your love completely all the time. It may take some time to be ready to bring home another pet, and of course no one will ever replace Angel, but you have so much love to give and in the future I bet another sweet dog will be lucky enough to come home with you. For now, take your time grieving and know that many people empathize with the depth of your pain and loss.
Hugs, Ave

First of all I would like to say I am very honored to be in this group! It is a blessing to know that that are other people like myself that have BIG heart's for our fury little family member's. I look forward to meeting you wonderful people. I lost my precious Angel 2 week's ago, Thanks to some heartless human being that poisoned her, She was a cockapoo, so loving & gentle with my little one's. When I got her to the Vet, He said she only had a 5% chance of survival & proceeded to tell me what a horriable death she would encounter if I chose not to put her to sleep. This was the HARDEST thing I have ever had to do, It felt like someone was ripping my heart from my chest. At this moment I fear falling in love with another pet & having to endure this pain all over again. Anyway, Thanks for having me!! Sincerly, Theresa

I'm terribly sorry for your loss and can't imagine why anyone would deliberately poison an animal. It's inhuman IMHO.
We had to put our 13 year-old black lab to sleep Saturday so I know how you feel. Life just isn't the same without her... -

Welcome, Teresa. What a horrible thing to endure. You'll think about another pet when you feel the time is right. Its too soon right now. You're still struggling with Angel's passing. Just know you have friends here that will help you get past the tough times. Hugs... -

Hi Teresa, I'm new to this group, too, and my heart goes out to you. I had two airdales many years ago. Someone threw meat over the fence that was full of poison. Mindy was the alpha, so she ate all the tainted meat, and Mork never got any. We rushed Mindy to the vet, but had to make the decision to have her eu. It hurt like crazy, but she was suffering so much.
In time, you will have a wonderful dog to add to your family. And remember, Angel will always be with you, she is buried in your heart. And she will happy you opened your life to another dog.

Hello Teresa, I was so sad to read about your precious Angel and fully understand how you felt about making that awful decision. The people or person who did that awful thing need to be locked up!!!!
Our precious pet, a 10 year old Bichon Frise called Holly, had some catastrophic event happen to her heart, she could scarcely breathe and was getting weaker every day, we tried everything but eventually had to make that fateful decision in February. Even though several months have passed neither my husband or I have recovered and, like you, cannot, at this time, contemplate going through this pain and heart ache ever again. In addition, we are older and wouldn't want to leave a pet behind when its our time to go. Part of the longing in our hearts is filled by looking after our friends and family's pets when they go on holiday. We can love and care for them without being completely besotted.
Take care of yourself and your loving heart.
Aileen

This group is for everyone that has the love of animals. If you have lost a pet or have a pet that is sick then you are at the right place. We also will be discussing day to day problems that we run into with our little ones, helping each other to work through them and find the answer. This soon will be also a meeting place for all Ordained Chaplains of Pets/Animals to discuss all phases of their ministry.
