I'll Do Anything

Has anyone from the UK been watching the show 'I'll Do Anything' where they are looking for someone to play Nancy in the show Oliver. It seems to me that many of the, what I would call 'good' singers have been voted off. The public vote for the one they like, and the two with the least votes have to sing at the end of each show, then Andrew Lloyd Webber chooses the one he wants to save. It seems to be a farce to me.

I live in America, so I haven't seen it, but it sounds alot like American Idol. I don't watch American Idol anymore.
