random drug testing

I think it creates alchoholics. For some who smoke marijuana, in my opinion something that is ok if you have the means and can still afford to eat. But then comes the test. Yes the gateway test. Forcing one to start using drugs that are quicker pass through the system. Well maybe get flack for the word forced. But damn!!!

Um, I'd have to disagree. If one has that much of a problem with addictions then it's only a matter of time before something else gets thrown in the mix. No, I don't think weed is a gateway drug that leads you down a path of destruction. I'm saying that if you NEED it to relax and NEED something else when you can't get it, there's your problem, not the random testing. Life is random and stuff happens, down the line I'm sure there will be something else to blame, but the fault is within.

Not saying it's an addiction. Maybe if I refrased it to ask you the question, even if you didn't have depression. Let's say you did. Sorry I didn't look to see. If in this testing they said your meds were unacceptable. These meds stay in your system for months.
And before anyone says but they don't. I will add, I have no insurance, and marijuana seems to work better than the prescript drugs I've tryed. Not to mention cheaper.

I believe there is a cultural bias against marijuana. It grows everywhere in the world as a weed. Europeans decided their drug of choice was alcohol, so when they emigrated to the U.S. they brought their stills and recipies. Marijuana in the US is associated with native and central/south American cultures. I do not see much difference between use of either pot or alcohol (with a nod to Star about addiction issues). The U.S. in the 1930's criminalized its use in order to provide a tool to kick out Mexican migrants. The history is very interesting and very bias against non-europeans here in the states.

If it wasn't for weed I would have killed some one long ago.

Rifleman420, just a question, but how do you really know it was the weed? Maybe you don't give yourself enough credit. Maybe you have enough compassion and realize that if you killed someone, it would be the same as someone killing you, or someone you care about. Maybe deep down inside, You understand how it would be like in their or their loved one's shoes. Understand that I don't know you and am not making judgments at all. Just questions for the conversation.

Dam I already commented on this topic, guess I was stoned. Schmanek., you can say anything to me so don't worry about opinions or judgments. A few times in my life I thought, " you know I might have to kill this guy." Then that night I'd smoke and the anger would subside enough that I'd come up with a new plan. I just found this link usually I am on the Hep C site or in the rant room. If I offend anyone please say so, cause at times I can be an ass. -Darby-

The Drug War is lost - it is just too profitable.

It is pointless to outlaw drugs - much better to legalize them, control, regulate and tax them. By doing this much petty crime (Burglary, muggings and prostitution can be eliminated).

Some estimates put 90% of all crime in this class as being drug related. Eliminate the need to raise large quantities of money for drugs will eliminate most crime freeing up police manpower to protect the populous. However, despite the realities of the drug problem stiff necked politicians will not admit that the war is lost.

Cannabis is a gateway drug because in order to obtain it people are exposed to drug dealers and their networks and will be in an environment conclusive to acquiring harder drugs - especially if they have an experimental and/or addictive nature.

Almost all drug use is people trying to get rid of some pain. If we don't help people with their pain, the drug use will continue. I think the number 1 anti-depressant in use today is alcohol. Not sure on the rest and where they rank. There is a way to fix this pain, for anybody, with minimal or no drug use. People could be trained to do this. People could know the truth behind all of it. it does not take a special human being to do this. All humans are already more then special enough. And it is very simple and it can be easy. Or it can be hard, depends how you look at it. And that is the truth, it all depends on how you look at it. How you look at it. How you look at it. I repeat because that is the key - How you look at it.

But there is no profit in this solution. There is only a loss of power for many people. Take the power from the few and give it to the all.

Cannabis, you think when you smoke weed you are outlaw. You think you are against the man. You are "underground" Well are you? Or does that weed make you happy enough to not really question what is really going on? Make you content in your little rebellion, enough to keep submitting? Or are you right where they want you, able to be prosecuted if need be and also being kept somewhat content? Just some question to ask yourself.

Now substitute the word cannabis and weed for one of the following - Heavy metal, rock music, rap music, tattoos, choppers, Harley's, any illegal drug, crime, gambling, sex and porn, entertainment. Maybe you start to get the idea. A society drowning in it's distractions is easy to control. Is this the way it is, or am I paranoid? All I know is, the less I am intoxicated, the clearer things are to see, the better I feel.
