What do you do when you can't go to sleep?

Posted on 04/23/08, 03:04 pm
Well, last night I cleaned my apartment top to bottom and fell into bed exhausted, only to get up again in 4 hours and start the day all over again. I also read and Im trying to find a good book that is hard to put down for those long, lonely nights when the even the house is asleep and there I lay, wide-eyed and tired. I have read somewhere that if you havent fallen asleep in 20 minutes of going to bed, you need to get up. Or maybe its an hour. I can't remember. So, I would be interested in knowing what everyone else does when insomnia strikes.

Have you read the Left Behind Series??? It is a fictional about the rapture and tribulation periods...they are hard to put down...I enjoyed them...I cleaned all day Friday and thought oh I'll sleep good but NO...I went to sleep and 4 hours later I woke up in TERRIBLE pain from doing the cleaning...brother do I know how you feel....I don't think liquor is an answer for me becasue of the meds I'm on and Jesus would not like that very well since I have been delivered from alcoholism....and like tonight here I am writing a response to you...God Bless You...

nice to meet u angelndisquis. I read your profile after looking at the insomniacs like myself. I eat, paint my nails, read, usually anything to make me weary. Tonight I'm hooked on this comp. Only joined DS on Sat, doesn't take much to get hooked does it?

When I can't sleep and after stairing at the celing for 2 hours I either watch TV, Chat on the computer, or play games on my computer,PS3, or my phone. Sometimes I will color my Mandalas because it is relaxing to me. I usually do not fall asleep till about 4 - 6 in the morning and sometimes I can not go to sleep till 2 days later and sometimes 3 days.
