CVF Ordered

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed and finalised orders for two new Fleet Aircraft Carriers for the Royal Navy.
These two new Carriers will each be 65,000 tonnes and can maintain air operations in seas up to force7. Each ship will operate 36 F35B VSTOL planes. The new carriers should be able to sortie a similar number of missions per day as the Nimitz class of the USN.
The lead carrier will be called HMS Queen Elizabeth since it is tradition that the first capital ship built in a monarchs reign is named after the monarch. The second carrier will be known as HMS Prince of Wales. A third carrier in the class will be built for and operated by the French. The French carrier will probably be configured to operate with a catapult rather than a ski jump. This will reduce its operational efficiency.
