do you find when someones telling a joke you allways seem to be way slower then other people at understanding it??!!

I allways find I never get a joke at first so I just pretend to laugh (or look completely blank depending how bad it is!) and then 1 min later it suddenly clicks and I laugh really loudly! or make a kinda 'oooooohh' noise :) anyone else find this?

  yes!! lol. but you know... when I finally catch on as to what's going on and I finally start laughing, the whole group laughs with me. it makes the fun last longer.
  i also think it depends what people you're with. the friends i have, i feel very comfortable with and I know they wouldn't hurt me.

  heehee- yes thats a good way of looking at it! you get a kinda mexican wave of laughs :D makes life much more interesting! and it does depend on who your with....... I'm fine when it's my friends. They just tease me and say its coz I'm blonde! But it was a bit more scary when it was my violin teacher- he's quite a gruff man and when I didn't get something he joked about he said 'oh come on jane, this is an easy one!' I smiled back and said- sorry my brains a bit slow!

  I think its like lyrics in songs it may take us longer but when we get it we have a greater undestanding.
  
  Some jokes simply don't make me laugh because they are simplistic.
  
  Also I don't like jokes aimed at a particular individual because I tend to identify with the victim. The exception is some politicians but they are in the public domain so they are fair game.

  heh people tell a joke and its like days later before I get it. If I get it at all...It's like I was watching the Fairly oddparents with my little cousins. Timmy calls "Crocker" "Crock pot" and until recently I didn't get the joke. I started laughing out loud when it finally clicked. as for work, I laugh with everyone else even if I do'nt get it.
