Worry health-out of my control

Posted on 06/20/08, 12:13 pm
Some days I can almost forget about my health issues. Right now I am realy frightened. The cryoglobulenimia i have that is a result of my HEP C has really flared up. My immunologist said to try to rest and see if it goes away on its own. I did take tx for five weeks and it really unexpectedly activated this disease. My doctors said it would be dangerous for me to continue treatment so I stopped after five weeks. It has now been six weeks since stopping treatment. I have this flare up and seem to have a weakened immune system. Sore throats, sinus infection, etc. I will see my doctor if this does not go away. I do feel this may be a reaction to the tx. Does anyone have any ideas?

while you were on treatment your immune system was in the 'crapper'. It is most likely a reaction to treatment. I don't care what anyone says..there is detoxing off the meds

Yup. You got 'immune system in the crapper' syndrome. HCVSR711's, you're right on, I agree, it's like detox. I'm watching it happen in my house. The ole'man stopped tx 6/4 and he's getting cold sores, sore throats, etc., etc. It's getting better for him, hope you can say the same soon, hang in there, Skeeter.

Just thought I would update today. Immunologist thinks that my problems may have been as a result of tx. I continue to take it easy and hope rashes and other cryo problems may go away. He took many blood and urine tests and I will return in three weeks for further evaluation. I am not as frightened. Yet still worry that if this the HEP C itself I am not able to take the tx.

Lacudia, that's what WE'RE here for. Worrying out loud helps. It's a worrisome, scary condition and sometimes it feels like the treatments are as slow-moving as the disease itself. In three weeks you'll know more. In the meantime try to concentrate on the positive things in your life and take care of your overall health. You'll be doing yourself a favor. Please keep coming here to DS. People here have been great to me as a caretaker. It's made my life, and the ole'man's, a lot easier. Hang in there. Hugs & prayers, Skeeter
