Hey friend, I feel ya!!! Doctors really get on everyones nerves now and then...I once went for a pap yrs. ago and they put me up in stirups and went out to get something and there I was for about an hour so scare because the door was open a very small bit but I was so terrified thinking and realizing that they did forget me and someone was going to come in and so I got angry and decided to wait to see how long it would take and sure enough I was there getting mad for about another 20 mins. He finally came in and was shocked that I was still there and he forgot me...He said what are you doing still here...OMG!!!! I said how dare you blame me for your neglect! Well I did say it in a much worse way ...He never cared about me after he found out I had hep c and I was abused by him for about another yr. then I got fed up and told him off and foung another doc...My kids were so mad that I put up with him that long...Like I said friend...I understand ya...Pam

    Gonna get political here.

First, let me tell you what I use to do when I felt I had sat there long enough...I'd light a cigarette. That always got their attention.

The medical world is all politics. Now...this are my ideas.
They have the power to charge as much as they want and they also have the power to make you wait on them. I don't think they realize that we are the ones paying their bills so they can live up in their nice beautiful homes.

Now, if our medical needs were attended to as other countries...we'd probably get better health care.

The fire department...they get a salary...they come when called and they do the best they can. Same for the police department. Although they are getting a bit antsy too.
They just need to realize that our world does not revolve around them. It revolves around us.

One of our first accounts was a dealership in south Austin. We live in the North Lake Travis area. It would take me some time to get a vehicle back over to them and then I'd have to wait for them to get me another one to drive back to the shop.
Finally, one day...I told the sales manager,"Look, we're burnin' daylight here. Time is money. I'm not out here just riding around. I'm workin'."
I have no patience anymore for incidents like that.
When you are set up for an appointment at a certain time...then they need to be there on time too.
I've got daddy's doctors pretty well trained. After we waited for three hours for one appointment...daddy started drivin' his wheelchair all around the waiting room and taking out furniture. The doctor came right on out.
    I'm a spitfull one, ain't I?
    Try it.

Tasmoe-What a hoot,I just got a mental picture of you and your Daddy in the waiting room. I'll probably think of this everytime I have to wait in a waiting room now. Waiting in the waiting room is bad, but what really gets me mad is if I am already in the little examining room with the paper dress on and you sit in there freezing your ass off & they forget ya.

OH! CSick, that's another one of my pet peeves. I don't take my clothes off in front of myself.
Went to a doctor when I was younger...for head, shoulder and chest pains. They made me take off my cloths and put on that piece of paper.
    Yep...after about 15 minutes...I lit a cigarette.
Doctor came in and proceded to look down under and asked me,"What seems to be the problem today?"
Well doc,"If you could get your head out of my ass and look up...I can show you."

Now, those socks they give you in the hospital are cool. I like them. I'm down to two socks. One is blue and the other is tan. And I wear them. Daddy always makes the comment,"Your socks don't match." I says,"I don't care. My feet ain't cold."
Then while we were in Temple at the VA hospital the other day, a guy walked in with one white tennis shoe on and one black tennis shoe on.
Daddy just kind of giggled. I told him,"The dude just couldn't make up his mind this morning."

Jill! This is going to make you laugh!
You read where I will light a cigarette if I've waited too long.
Today, we had daddy in ER by 2:00 p.m. We waited until 3:30 p.m. before we got into an ER room.
Daddy was sittin' in his wheelchair...started chasin' women patients in the waitin' room and spittin' his teeth out. He was pissed and had this really wild look on his face.
He got in pretty damn quick considering most the people that were in there at the same time...where still sittin' in the waiting room when we left tonight at 10:00 p.m.
Daddy said,"We're bringin' Lucy next time. We'll show 'em. Bastard!"
The nurse sort of backed up. I said,"Ain't he cute?"

lol, tasmoe, i may start carrying a pack of cigarettes and lighter just to dr appts! i've started bringing all three kids with me whenever i have appts, the longer i have to wait the less i try to keep them quiet. usually works. don't bring them to husb's hep appts tho. he gets embarrassed b/c i will go up to the counter every 10 minutes and make myself a pain in the butt, but who gets results? the squeaky wheel.

Mike has a new approach. Irritates the hell out of 'em. He stands at the nurses station and just stares at them. Don't say a word, just stares. Don't know if you know what my husband looks like. He seldom shaves and stutters real bad. He don't pay much attention in what he wears either. Generally jeans with holes in them, dirty ol' work shoes and his fav shirt is the holey King Of The Hill t-shirt with Hank Hill on it. In a nutshell...I've seen homeless people look better than him. lol
