where were you on 9/11

I had just gotten a cup of coffee and was getting ready to read my email at work. We had the radio on as usual and they interupted the music. i ran down to the lunchroom to turn on the tv, but people were all ready standing around with tears in their eyes and look of disbelief. I brought a small tv into my office and people came in all day to watch. It still seems unreal. God rest their souls. Sass

This is a time when everyone will remember where they were and what they were doing. Those of us who were old enough, will always remember where we were when Kennedy wa shot also.

On 9/11, I was in my classroom teaching middle school sp. ed. students. I knew nothing about what had happened. The assistant principal came into my room with a note from the principal, saying the towers had been hit. It was my choice as to whether I wanted to turn on the TV in my classroom. Considering my students, I chose not to turn it on. This was about 10:00. I couldn't wait until lunch to find out more. When I saw it on TV at lunchtime, I was in disbelief. The rest of the day was a blur. It didn't really sink in until later that night.
I remember the good that had come out if that tragedy. Everyone in America became patriotic - flying flags, wearing t-shirts,even putting up signs in school saying, "God Bless America." It was touching to see people come together, share a common belief, and be proud to display it. I think our older children in school learned the value of being an American.
God bless everyone who was lost on that day.

    Hugs,
    Vicki

Taking my daughter to a health clinic. I waited in the car...I kept hearing the same words over and over again on each channel. I thought my radio was broken. My sister lives in NY city. She says it has not recovered. There is still a sense of sadness there. God bless America.

I had just gotten up and was following my usual routine. At first I thought there was just a fire burning in one of the towers and the height is what made it news-worthy. I was still half asleep, so I wasn't very cognizant of everything they were saying. Then there was an explosion in the other tower and I realized this was more than just a fire. The following slow motion replay showed the airliner coming in from the right, behind the burning tower. That's when I woke my (ex)wife and asked her if she wished to see history in the making.

When I got to work (about 1/2 hour late) the TV was on in the lunch room. Later, during lunch, the place was actually packed for a change.

Eve lived there at the time and her (ex)fiance worked near the towers. When I've asked her about it, she has only said it was a really bad time.

I was in Millcreek Community hospital. I was watching Tv and thought the piolet mde a mistake. My husband just walked in the room and said it was a terrorist who hit the towers. The whole hospital was like a morgue that day. It was silent and people were crying and it was a day I will never forget. I sent a poem to this site called God's Embrace , and I wrote down all my feelings about that morning. Hope you all get a chance to read it . Love, frieda

I was on my way up to Flint Michigan driving along just having a nice trip when I heard it on the radio, I will never forget that day and what I felt instantly in my heart...I praise God that I wasn't a part of that and thankful that my family and friends were all safe. I prayed immediately to save all the people that weren't suppose to die that day..its a scary thing that our government doesn't have tighter control...May God Bless all those souls lost that day.

Welcome
