Another one I learned around the same time:
"Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone,
Long time ago?
Young girls picked them, every one.
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time passing?
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time ago?
Gone with the young men, every one.
Where have all the youn men gone?
Long time passing?
Where have the young men gone gone?
Long time ago?
Gone to be soldiers every one.
Where have all the the soldiers gone?
Long time passing?
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time ago?
Gone to the flowers, every one."
I thought this one was appropiate at this time.

For some reason, this song I learned as a kid just popped into my head the other day, and I keep humming it.
"I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows.
I believe that even in the darkest night, a candle glows.
Every time, I hear a newborn baby cry,
or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
then I know why, I believe. I believe."
I know parts are missing. That's all I can remember. But what a beautiful song. What a reminder to be thankful.
If anyone knows the rest, please add to it.
Hugs,
Vicki

Oh yeah, it's supposed to have in it, "when will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?" More is coming back to me. -

believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come
To show the way
I believe, I believe
There you go
I believe above a storm the smallest prayer
Can still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word
Everytime I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe
Everytime I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe

That's it. Thanks. Now, I can sing the whole song. I love that song. It's one of those few songs I can carry the tune.
