Anyone superstitious about Dead Time
Posted on 07/17/08, 10:39 pm
Dead time is said to be when all spirits come out and manefest... I don't know if any of you believe in this... Dead time is 3:00 am anywhere you may live.... I feel that some festivals may be held at this time specifically for that reason... Any thoughts on this? xxoxoxx

I have heard that spirits are more likely to turn up at 3:00 am. I asked why 3 and was told it had to do with the Crucifiction of Christ. I sure would like to hear what others are saying. -

yes wag952 I have heard that too (because this was the time
of Christ's being crucified on the Cross). I don't know but
I have been watching that show off and on on A&E called
"Paranormal State" and it's eeeeeery to say the least. I find
myself having to change the channel during the show sometimes
because they touch on so many things. It's interesting though. -

3 AM is when the average human is at the lowest part of his circadian rhythm. We are usually relaxed, less stimulated, and therefore more receptive. it's not so much that ghosts come out at night as we are less distracted and more likely to notice small changes in our surroundings. -

The so called Dead Time or when entities manifest or do activty for us on an investigation has been from 10pm to 3am.However we have had activity in the day time while doing a follow up. -

I have always wondered why ghosts are more prevalent at night. But you do make sense Mr Bear, maybe its just us being more receptive. I wonder about a lot, for instance why do ghosts always wear the same clothes, never update their wardrobe no matter how uncomfortable that clothing was? Do fat people HAVE to be fat ghosts? Why do spirits have ethnic qualities, why arent all spirits the same? Is there ever a case of a nudist spirit? OK, I could go on and on, but I do wonder why about these things. -

Mr. Wag, one theory that I heard is that ghosts/spirits/non-corporeal entities appear as they perceive themselves or as they remember themselves. A comfortable jacket, a pipe, a favorite dress, a hat that was frequently used.... that kind of thing. Likewise for body image.
As for a nude ghost, I might well be one myself, should I remain in this realm past my lifespan. It's equally likely that I will be dressed in boat shoes, shorts, a polo shirt, and my usual hat. Had I died in my childhood and remained here, I would almost certainly be dressed in jeans, boots, and a cowboy hat with a non-corporeal cap gun in a holster.
The one time i saw a ghost and bought him breakfast, he had every bit as much definition as you or I. Indeed, at the time I had no idea he was ghost. Lacking any reason to think otherwise, I assumed he was among the living. -

Old Man Bear... may I please ask one question? In many cultures feasts are often prepared for the dead (Mexican Day Of The Dead)and others give offerings of food and drink (voodo, Hoodo, etc). The Christian Bible describes a feast in heaven. Did your spirit breakfast companion actually eat anything? Will they eat in the after life? -

Well, that's one of the odd points of the story. It was early in the AM at an all night diner in Louisiana and I was trying to stay awake (I was trying not get killed by dozing off behind the wheel), so I pulled in and took a seat at the counter. The waitress took my order and stayed in the kitchen with the cook. The old man two stools down looked like a homeless person, but I needed company to talk to, so I grabbed the last piece of pie under the dessert dome and passed it to him along with a cup of coffee I poured myself. We talked about old times, jazz music, history and such. Later, when I paid my tab, I told the waitress to charge me for the old man's pie and coffee. The basic reply was "What old man?" and "We ran out of pie after the lunch rush."
She swore no one had entered the diner while I was there and she had had no customers in over an hour. I know for a fact that he was there. I did see him eat - greedily, in fact, as if it had been his first food in a while. I don't exactly recall him leaving or arriving, but I have no clear memory of him being there when I ordered or when the waitress brought my food.
On the other hand, this was almost thirty years ago. -

Now thats interesting indeed! Maybe we all have come across something supernatural and just didnt notice. Most of us are lousy observers, we see what we choose to see.
