Will You Vote?

Posted on 10/12/08, 10:55 pm
As Christians do ou feel a responsibility to vote? If you are voting what will you base your vote on? Have you visited web sites that are Christian based to see how they rank the canidates on various issues. Has your church made available literature on the canidates?

There is one I cannot vote for even though He is very charismatic and wants change. I cannot vote for a person who is in favor of abortion and even worse. I will stand before my God and be accountable for who I support. "How long halt ye between two opinions?" And in Revelations, "Because you were neither cold nor hot I will spew you out of my mouth." We are to be a mouthpiece for the dumb and those who cannot defend themselves. With no apology I will not cast my vote for this man. I must do what I can do to assure he does not get elected. I do not believe my vote will be on the winning side but I will have done my part.

Stephano I agree with you one of the things I consider carefully is if a canidate is pro life or pro choice. I believe the economy is going to be one of the dominating issues that effects how people are going to vote. People are talking a lot about the race issue also. There are some that believe if a black man were to be elected to the presidency his life will be at an even greater risk. I have also been doing some research into the folks these canidates have as advisors and folks who are running their campaigns. Some canidates have way more money than others, that leads me to wonder who is giving all this money and what is expected in return. I also am trying to not be swayed by the media, esp. news programs. Thanks for the reply.

i think the economy is what is concerning everyone, problem is that i believe if we did as we are suppose to, God would fix it. everything is in his power. we cannot fix it. and as long as the politicians want power and money, He will provide it for them. if obama was a true christian he would not want things that he does. abortion is wrong. why is it murder if a pregnant woman gets killed..a double murder but a women can legally kill the baby? i have heard so much about that man and i have seen so much, he scares me. mccain is not the best candidate either but palin seems real good. i do believe obama will win, but its just the beginning of whats to come.

    I voted yesterday.

Just a thought the anti Christ will not have horns and a tail, he will be very charismatic. Our Pastor says the anti Christ is anything anti Christ and you need to beware of anyone who has such a charm on people they pass out in his presence .

I too think the Obama is going to win, that is what is being said on the media anyway and that he is ahead in the polls.I think that fact alone will keep people home, they will not vote, they think what is the point the election has been decided. I hope America gets out there and votes no matter what. Obama does have much support, I read last month alone his campaign raised 150 million dollars, if that is true I hope it gets circulated back out into the market.

well he isn't getting in there by my vote and us Christians who have strong convictions about the abortion issue should get off their tushes and vote. As far as Obama winning in the polls there is a big difference between what people say then what they actually do.

I agree with you Hope, people need to pray and to get out and vote. Here in Michiganthere is a big issue on the ballot concerning stem cell research. That will bring out many voters I am sure too.

The love of money is the root of all evil. That should be our last decision when choosing a leader for our country. We should choose a leader that stands for what God says is right. Abortion is murder no matter what the reason. Marriage is between one man and one woman. We need a leader who will stand up and say exactly what he believes without fear of offending anyone. And every single conscious, living, breathing Christian should stand up for what they believe in by voting.

Could it be that the media is the Antichrist? It has been the means of the serpent. It has such power as to defy reason in people and make them believe what is said. The media tells us how to vote, what to think, what to feel and if we do not agree then we are somehow "just not with it." There is no doubt in my mind that the media in totality, is anti Christ.
As Christians, we should know without hesitation as to how to vote. We will answer to Him for it. Praise God almighty.
