Is it Possoble to get Suspended from school juct beacuse your sexuality is different?

Posted by Alex89 - 04/18/08, 09:04 pm
That is the question i have been wondering bout . I came out to my school councelor and she told me , that supposedly that i cant come out in school , because some people may consider it  sexual harrasment , and supposedly im going to be advertising my body , {and like ask my friend laura or margil my body is not that sexy lol , but yea} but like im just fucking tired that only because our sexuality is different they discrimante us , and start critizing us , like we are humans too arent we , at least we are not the ones that kill people or something . Is  like they think that only because  we are bi trans or les or gay  that they have all the right to judge us . Like god {if ur not religous , still the same shitt} we are born like this for reason and that is for us to love ourself  more but in a different kind of way  . Like they treat us like we have the rabbies or aids, or we are going to die just because  were gay or something . Im just fucking tired that people always judge a book by its cover , when will it be the time to be accepted like normal beigns i really really want to find that out ?

But u know, for us its better. I mean, its awesome that we like the same sex. We understand each other better and relationships can be just great. People dont understand the fact we can love as well as they can

The counselor had no right to tell you that... All my close friends know I'm a lesbian and several others do and quite honestly, its not really anybody elses business what you say. As long as you don't try and tell everyone else to be gay there is no reason for you not to be out. Of course, my school isn't typical with the people or the teacher and I consider myself lucky. Best of luck to all of you with your schools and coming out.

I am a teacher. You can come out at school. We have several students who live an openly homosexual lifestyle at our school. I live in the midwest and we are about as conservative as it gets. We have lesbian couples who walk around holding hands and occassionally kissing in the hall (although we don't allow any couple to do so). I posted a question about life for homosexual students at school. If you would like, you could help me help the teachers at my school understand what it is to be a homosexual teenager - particularly where school is concerned. What can we, as teachers and administrators, so to make the school culture less hostile toward homosexuals?

I think it's ridiculous that we're discrimnated against because of our sexuality. At the high school I went to, couples walked around the hallways holding hands, but if a teacher/administrator saw you you'd get into big fucking trouble. I have to constantly hear from my dad how gays/les'/bis/trans are all gross and disgusting. I've been a lesbian for 4-5 years now. I haven't come out to my parents yet, but every time I hear something like that I just stand up for people like us. It's not right for us to be picked on or discriminated against by anyone! Thinking back on high school, whenever someone got into trouble because of holding hands or kissing or whatever, I just wanted to slap them or cuss them out. But seeing as I would've gotten in trouble for something like that, I just muttered 'leave 'em alone' at the teachers/administrators as I walked by them
