Sweet lavender --- nasal/sinus congestion --- put a small amount in a tissue and crush. Take a whiff periodically. It will help open up clogged passages as well as give you a touch of aroma therapy.

Bear or Osha root --- sore throat --- chew on the root. It will numb the throat and stop that tickle that causes a cough.

This is a start.....lets have some of yours now!

Interesting.....will have to try the floor cleaner.

Thanks for adding something new. And here is my addition for today....

For cleaning copper use tomato sauce. I pour tomato sauce in a pie pan and set my copper bottom pans to soak for a bit. The acid in the tomato will "eat" all the stains without doing damage to the copper itself.

    Here's some bug repellent ideas.....

Grain weavels in your cabinets?? Place bay leaves in the corners of the cabinet shelves. Or if you keep them in air tight containers in your freezer it will keep them out.

Garden ~ plant marigolds in the garden keeps several bugs out of your garden.
Also you can place cigarette butts in an empty coffee can. When you need a bug spray for your plants, add water to the cigarette butts and let it sit for a 24 hrs. Strain and put the nictoine water into a spray bottle. Spray on your plants and it will keep all kinds of bugs off of them.

Around my house, we rely on colloidial silver for a lot of things. It is a broad spectrum antibiotic. Silver used to be prescribed by doctors....it is still used as Silvadine on burn patients. It can be used as a topical treatment, as eye drops or taken internally. You can google colloidial silver and get more information on it including how to make it yourself. I make my own.

You basically run electricity through 2 pieces of silver suspended in water. The electrical current causes the silver molecules to bond with the water molecules. Making colloidial silver. It is best to use distilled water since it is the purest form of water with no impurities.

It is tasteless and has no more of a burn when used on an open wound or eye than water does. We also use it on our critters. I put a few drops in their water dish once a month as a preventive. For those prone to UTIs, this is one antibiotic that won't cause a UTI.

Again, please educate yourself on colloidial silver before you begin to use it. But a little goes a long way and it costs practically nothing to make.....the cost of the distilled water and the power.

It sounds silly but if you want to put a good shine on your garage cement floor just to look cleaner or even the driveway take sawdust and WD40 and mix lightly sprinkle and sweep. Makes it look brand new every time....
