i have been asked by people (mostly male friends) where is it written in the bible that god says you should not have sexual relationships before marriage. and the thing is though i kno it is in the bible, i am absolutely gob smacked cause i really have no clue as to where to point out when asked this question. however, i did happen to read in chapter 18 and chapter 20 of leviticus, regarding who one should not have sexual relations with. would really appreciate an insight into this so that i can proudly stand up and say it does say in so and so verse...

these mates r nt jewish..christians...even my bf has begun 2 change his views frm b4 n he's christian 2...he's prob gettin influenced by sum1 els..n i dnt want satan 2 conquer his thoughts b4 its too late! -

THIS REALLY ISN'T AN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION, BUT IN MATTHEW 19:5, IT SAYS THAT THE TWO WILL BECOME ONE FLESH.
THE QUESTION THEN BECOMES, HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES A PERSON REALLY WANT TO BECOME ONE FLESH WITH? ALSO, FROM SEX COMES A CHILD WHICH IS THE ACTUAL COMBINATION OF ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN.
IF YOU SHOW YOUR FRIENDS CHAPTER AND VERSE THAT IT'S IN THE BIBLE RIGHT HERE, DO YOU THINK THAT WILL ACTUALLY CAUSE THEM TO CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR? I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT. THEY ARE MAKING EXCUSES TO BE IMMORAL, WHICH IS FINE, BUT CALL IT WHAT IT IS, AND DON'T TRY TO FIND A LOOPHOLE LIKE SAYING IT'S NOT IN THE BIBLE.
BOTTEM LINE, GOD SAYS THAT IT WILL DESTROY YOU, BUT IN REGUARDS TO SALVATION, CHRIST PAID IN FULL THE PRICE FOR ALL SINS IF ONE IS CALLED TO BELIEVE IN HIM. SIN CAUSES PAIN. A BELIEVER CAN SIN ALL HE OR SHE WANTS, BUT AS A CHILD OF GOD THERE IS VERY PAINFUL DISCIPLINE FOR SIN WHICH IS TO CORRECT THE BEHAVIOR WHICH IS THEN FOLLOWED BY REPENTANCE AND GOD RESTORES US WITH HIS GRACE. -

Thankyou Rob for your insight on this. the main reason i asked for help with the verses is cause i find it as a challenge. god gave man free will. but i have faith that if i pray hard enough and if other people pray with me for my fellow youths, god would open their eyes and give them the understanding. at the end of the day it is their prerogative as to how they want to lead their life. i guess there's no harm in trying. like you, i dont think my mates are going to repent and become saints just cause i showed them the verses they asked me to show. but i have faith that if i pray and show them these, atleast one person might change their mind. i dont expect the whole lot to repent and remit for their sins....but if i can change atleast one person, i would be proud that i helped one person from burning in hell. -

Ok, let's look at some verses in the Bible and see what they say. First of all, Leviticus 18 gives all the dont's. That covers pretty much everything, including being gay. For the punishments for those behaviors, read chapter 20. Matthew 15:19 lists sexual immorality as well as adultery, so obviously it isn't the same thing. 1 Corinthians 5:9 tells us not to associate with sexually immoral people, but is clear that this means people who claim to be "Christian", not the unsaved. Those we are to witness to. 1 Corinthians chapter 6 also gives some information about sexual immorality, especially verses 9-18. There are more, but I hope this gives you a good start.
