me!
I used to watch the fights all the time until I got a job working afternoons/nights ;/
Now I have to depend on others to record them for me to watch later ;/

I am not going to pay for the fights, so i wait until they are replayed.
We just watched tito ortiz and forrest griffen from back in 2005.. I think it was one of forrest's first fights after the reality show he was in. It was a great fight.

I bet...
we watched one last week with the female MMA fighters. One of my girlfriends was surprised the girls don't look like the gladiator chicks or the she-beasts show up in bodybuilding.
I tried to explain to her that most females that lift serious weights DON'T look like the ones listed above without outside chemical help (she's always telling me that my weight lifting will make me get manly.... *eyeroll*). -

I like to call that cheater building!
We were taught years ago in class how to get Bulky.. and how to avoid it. Basically if you are serious, you will do more full rotations and reps instead of half reps and heavier weight... fatigue vs force.
I have lots of family that are strong like Ox... and they are not bulky. They got theirs the good old fashioned way... bailing hay and doing hard work. I know some others that are really bulky, and weak in comparison..
ever see the Spongebob episode when he gets the blow up arms? -

I lift heavy with low rep and there is no way I will turn into a she-beast. I weigh more than twiggy, but I bet I can wear the same size clothes ;)
I can squat 120 pounds, bench press 100, dead lift 100 (most days....). I bicep curl 25 - 40, etc. My weakest muscles are my rear delts, but I think it's mostly because its a SMALL muscle and doesn't get used much due to the other muscles taking over. I think at max, I can use 10 pound weights for it ;/
I work with a lot of skinny fat people. They are the size of toothpicks, but are flabby and can't pick up a 10 pound bag of apples without grunting with effort, while i'm running around work with 50 pound bags of onions and potatoes and flour tossed over my shoulder. -

I guess I should add I normally don't do more than 6-10 reps per set, per exercise as well.
I do 2 sets of 6 slow reps each on my max weight days and 2 sets of 10 with a slightly lighter weight on other days.
Rarely ever do I go in the 12-16 rep direction.... -

I meant the ones who do only one set of like 3-4 reps.. and the weight they use is enough to create total muscle fatique in just a few reps...
I lift heavy and do about 8-10 reps and maybe 2 sets.
but when I say too heavy.. I mean like double it.. like the weight you do on a dare or guys might do to show off.
I used to leg press over 250, but I could do sets of reps. I saw guys trying 400 plus.. and they could only do maybe 4 reps.. and then they were jello.
and some do 1 rep, increase weight, 1 rep, increase.. and do it until they cant rep anymore. That is just nuts. -

Getting back to the MMA discussion, we do alot of that type of thing in the Army now. Army Combatives is an MMA style of fighting. There are 4 different levels of training. I am qualified at level 2.
