I can speak from both sides of the debate. Cats I have two who are very loving and warm. They meet me at the door when I come home after being gone awhile. When I watch TV in the easy chair they each perch on one of the arms. They follow me to the bathroom and anywhere else I may go. They act more like dogs! My only complaint is that Max's coat is so think he is always barfing no matter how much meds or brushing he gets.
Dogs - ah yes Roxy my 9 month old puppy. 41 pounds and she thinks she is a toy poodle LOL. When I sit in the easy chair to watch TV she climbs up in my lap, whether I want her too or not. She also follows me where ever I go. The only time she barks is when she is trying to get our attention or the dog next door's attention. She is soft and cuddly and always either sits on me somehow, or leans against me lol. She also likes to put her head on my shoulder after climbing in my lap and then she sighs! I am in love!
Neither has ever pooped on my head (or anyone else's for that matter) and they both cover their "deposits". So I have to say that in this instance, while I love all my "little ones" Roxy has my heart. Dogs Rule!

DEBATE: CATS V DOGS

cats, they are notorious for nicking food that isnt theirs., for lording it about the place, they dont care in which order they lick their arse cos they generally dont kiss humans anyway they are much too grand for that. I wish they wouldnt leave their fur and fleas everywhere. It doesnt matter what food flavour you buy them its never good enough, and every cat knows that rabbit flavoured food sucks! Cats have a tendency to poop in your flower beds then pretend it wasnt them when you confront them with the evidence, for this reason I reccommend that when you dig, plant or do anything in your flower bed, you first put on thick marigold gloves. then when you manipulate the soil it doesnt matter if you accidentally manipulate cat shit. Cats are loyal, if you give them what they want. They dont demand exercise when you are not feeling tickety boo, they instinctively know when you arent well, they purr and snuggle like dogs never can., Dogs can't compete with cats. Cats are independent, dogs are needy... I rest my case.
On the other hand............... anyone out there want to contribute to the debate and put the case for dogs. then when the debate finished I will take a toll and see who wins...

Dogs fetch. Their poo blends in with the neighbors dead leaves and is removed via the neighbors shoe. Cats hide their poo visually in the horseshoe pit. This can create a funny problem if it is your opponent who gets the sticky sand. Not so funny if it my own horseshoe. My dog knows when I am really hurting and he will lay his head on my knee. Cat uses the painful leg as a scratching post. I've learned that cats do not glide well. -

My cat is pretty stupid, you can put food right in front of her and she keeps looking for it all over, other than right in front of her. But, she's quiet and doesn't howl when she sees anything out of the window. I really like dogs, but when I dog sit for the neighbors I appreciate my cat even more. Anytime it thunders Darwin (a beagle/ basset mix) will sit wherever he is, refuse to move, and drool all over the place. And I mean DROOL. There's a puddle underneath of him. So cats, I think win. But it pains me to say that, I will always have a huge soft spot in my heart for dogs, and when I get a place of my own, I think I'll get one. -

My dogs are big and squishy and love hugs and kisses. My Zoey loves to give so many kisses, I have a doormat that states "Caution: Dog cannot control its liquor"! Jilly, I have a dog named Roxy too! She is very sweet and huggable. When I telll her to give me a kiss, she gives me a kiss like a person, just a peck lol! Zoey understands english, every word I say. She's been with us for over 2 years and with all the talking she hears, she really gets it! She rings a bell when she wants to go out in the yard. Roxy doesn't like the bell and cries (whines) a little to get my attention although I know she usually just wants to go out there to catch butterflies. She's only 10 months so she still has some learning to do. Both of them sleep with me bcuz hubby does night work so the dogs are my guardians :o) -

I love both of course I have to say that I have one of each!
The cat susie is great for making me laugh she eyes up my goldfish for dinner then dips her toes in realises they live in wet and screams as she runs of just to go and do it the next day!
My dog tess however is not that funny but she is elderly and makes up for it by giving me big cuddles when I am crying she also has helped get me up a few times when I have fallen and if it wernt for her I would have spent many a day on the floor.
So you see I cant possibly choose as they both offer entirely differnt things and I would be lost without either one of them!
