My mom and I both have fibro. This is a good and a bad thing b/c we know what to say but we can also enable each other, it's hard to know when to say what and often get on each other's nerves lol. We're both doing ok, considering all that has happened in our family these last couple of months and as soon as I start work we plan to join a gym together. I can't wait to be able to do this, for our health and also to have some one-on-one time together outside the house.
What's very difficult and which has been an ongoing issue of mine, is when she undermines our illness to the rest of our family. I used to be ridiculed a lot by older and younger siblings. Pushed to the point of being pushed down a lot. Always being an independent person, when I was not doing well this was the last thing i needed from others. Needing love and support and being criticized and nagged, my mom should have had my back I think. This has been a soft spot for me for quite a while and I was just wondering if anyone has some insight to share.
Anything and everything is appreciated!
