CHANNELERS....

im just wondering, what do you all think of people who "channel" beings and spirits?
i met a lady once, who was basically taken prisoner by the being she channeled who identified himself as michealangelo, an ark angel. her life revolved around him, and she even said that he called her his wife.
well at first i thought she was a nut job, but i relaxed and let my inner sense see over her, and he was there.
as soon as i did this she says, he wants to speak with you, no charge. she took me in a back room.
she started using a pendelum and i started seeing the air change is the only way i could explain it.
there were dark splotches that filled the room, specked with color where his aura or energy mingled with hers.
and he spoke through her. i dont know why but he said i was one of them, and that i needed to come back and accept what i am. i said no, i am not like you, and you will release her, he refused, said something about his "wife" told me about how some of this worked, asked me to not repeat this to her. i said no, you should release her. he kept saying she did so willingly. i pushed him away, i blocked him out with everything i could, i imagined a wall, that he could neither see nor hear us, and he was parted from her. she blinked her eyes, asked what happened, asked what he said, asked where he was.
i told her that i had blocked him away for the moment, she said she felt alone, more so than she had in years,
and that she was scared to leave him, and that he would be angry with her for allowing me to do this.
i offered her to come stay at my house, and i would help sever their connection to the best of my abilities for her to have herself back whole. she was afraid but told me she wanted to.
i never heard from her, but this was just a strange experience, and i havent talked to any channelers since.
so just wondering what everyone thought about them.

I have never had an experience like that, wow! You are one brave woman, Drac! I have heard similar tales from, whom I would consider, very sane people and I confess it freaks me. It is beyond my comprehension and I am frightened to open myself up in this way. Is the coward making any sense? -

I hav enever had anything liek this happen, but I know my Dad is still here in this house, as well as an older spirit. Occasioanlly, you can smell Old Spice aftershave or tobacco smoke(Dad smoked a pipe). When it goes, it is like someone cut off the spigot; it is there one second, gone the next. And we have seen Dad, as well. As for the other spirit, Not sure who it is; it is mostly a dark blob that floats through the house. This house is over 100 years old, but was also built on the foundation of an older house that burned,so who knows? It could be anybody!
One evening a few weeks ago, Yang(cat) was asleep on the couch beside me, and, suddenly, she raised up, her hackles up completely. She was staring into the corner of the room, but nothing was there. She stayed that way for 15 minute or so, then gradually calmed back down. -

Here are my thoughts on channeling:
There is a theory (one of many) out there that these types of things are actually parts of our True Self. It's our deeper subconsious mind bringing forth the wisdom & teaching we've learned over many lifetimes. It's the idea that there are forces or energies that represent/reflect our accumulated wisdom, or our idealized idea of compassion, or of healing, etc. (similar to Jung's collective unconscious.)
So, it's basically your True Self, the actual YOU that exists with or without your physical body, and your accumulated knowledge & wisdom over your entire span of existence influencing and coming forth to speak through your "now* self, your most recent incarnate form of YOU. That's how *I* see channelers & their abilities.

But with that said, I have a couple problems with this:
#1) "who identified himself as michealangelo, an ark angel."
Who??? ... he's no Archangel according to formal Catholic or Hebrew teachings. Only 3 Archangels are properly named within the canonical books of the bible: Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. All others are seen as false.
Others are sometimes mentioned: Raguel, Sariel, Remiel, Uriel, and sometimes Jeremiel. These are NOT within the Sacred Scriptures, but within the apocryphal book of Enoch and in Rabbinical literature, in both Christian & Hebrew writingss... and thereby seen as false names. (Unless you'd want to go against Pope Zachary and the Church it's self. LOL) Others are named by other Christians, Hebrews, Gnostics and New Agers alike. But in all that I've ever read, I've never heard of this one. So that leaves me asking: "Who the hell is Michaelangelo, besides a famous painter and/or a Teenage Mutant Ninja turtle????
And while we're on the subject...why would an Archangel...one of the Christian God's foremost messengers be behaving like this, with such hostility??? She doesn't seem to be doing it willingly or freely, obviously. That a supposedly beneficial entity would come through, yet use force/coercion to retain it's hold on it's host is HIGHLY suspect to me.
Most have messeges to pass along, advice and the like to be shared with the world for our benefit. So what's the purpose of this occurance... other than her getting paid to do readings or whatever?

Okay... this really makes me doubt. Why would something obviously more *evolved* (I'll put it that way) need a mortal to instruct him in how things were done????? That makes absolutely no sense to me. As a "higher being" it wouldn't need her "instruction."
In the end, I think this could be either of two things:
One... it could be a case of possession, but it seems fishy, IMO. If this *were* a possession, I doubt you'd be able to banish this fully on your own. It would be wise to confront any such thing with others around you to aid in the banishing, as well as protecting all involved. Plus, you'd have others there to keep this *thing* from attatching to YOU!
Two... it could be a case of her subconcious gone wild. While she might be able to manifest some things physically (the splotches/aural lights you saw), this is a part of her that she's allowing to express it's self outwardly. When you threatened it (her) with exposure, you didn't play into the plan and where naturally shut out. I'm much more inclined to believe this senario. She could very well be the "nutjob" you thought her, but one who has the ability to manifest energy around herself... and basically wanted to be more than she actually was. The mind can do fantastic things, but something seems off here. And considering how much has been written on the phenomena over the last 20 yrs or so, it wouldn't be inconcievable for her to mimic this effectively.
I'm curious... Did you know her before this happened or only afterwards? What type of person was she, if you did?
Sorry if my scepticism is irritating. I'm not doubting you...I'm doubting her.

Lynne... had similar experiences in the house my ex & I moved into years ago. The former owner had passed away in a lawn chair right outside the kitchen windows! Every so often we'd hear running water down stair in the basement(where the bathroom was) while no one was down there. I'd smell the strong scent of roses alongside & just as I went to go into the house. Like you said: one minute there, the next, nothing.
And when alone, I'd get get things like this: standing in the kitchen puting dishes away, I bent to put something in the bottom cupboard. When I stood and before I turned, I got a big "whoooosh" of air straight up against my body/face. Guess I just got too close to him as he was passing by or something! LOL
A year or so into our living there, I began to get the creepiest sensations as I was just about to drop off into sleep... I kept feeling as if someone were in the small room next to the bedroom. Andlater in the night, I'd get the distinct feeling that someone was standing at the foot of my bed. It didn't bother me so much at first, but it seemed to change. And when I began to feel threatened by this "thing" I pushed back against it with everything I had. It never came back, but I've always wondered what it was.
I also had some very interestingly vivid & prophetic dreams in that house. I've always hated having to leave that property because I felt such a bond with the land. It's the place I talk about...where I held my open circles and whatnot back in the Sassafras woods. I hope I can one day find a place like that... where I can feel that intense bond again. The house Tim & I are in, I just can't get connected as I'd like to. -

That is one of the reasons why I would not want to live in a newer house; not as much personality(or personalities!) there. There are a series of old building foundations(and I mean old, at least for the US!) in the woods above the creek on the back of the farm. And the historical society here has paper records of a settlement just about in this area, from when the area was first being settled. I keep meaning to go back there; just not right now; I am not sure what would be "visiting" (I hate snakes!) -

Ive had LOTS of experience with "spirits" thats pretty much where alot of my natural talent lies.
ive seen and heard, and smelled all kinds of things that you two are describing. while some are welcome, and what i like to call "whole spirits" where they know who and what they are and mind their own and keep most their energy to themselves. there are the "lost spirits" who dont really know what is going on, those are the worst for me, cause they often turn malicious or threatening. there was a house i moved into when i was about 14, the "spirit" there was a spirit that lived there, who became very good friends with me. he kept negative things out, i didnt even have to put up blocking or wards, he did it all for me, and he was very talkative, he told me what happened, how he died, why he stayed, and who he was waiting for. i dont think i will ever meet anyone like that again that is so solid in what and who they are.
i found out later, by talking to someone who knew what had happened those years ago, that every thing the "spirit" whom i came to call charles told me, was true. it was a great relief, and a big affirmation to me that i wasnt crazy cause i was always talking to "spirits" and other things.
as far as the channeling goes, maybe it was micheal, and i said michealangelo cause i watched to much teenage ninja turtles, LOL.
i dont know, it was a strange experience really. cause he did bother me for a while, more like i "felt" him around. well this may sound odd, but its something i learned from all the spirits that used to come to talk to me. i learned his signature, i could find him and follow him. so one day, after my friend felt him around too,
I did just that. i had my friend keep a hand on me to keep me grounded, and i chased him.
i guess it was a kind of astral thing, cause i remember lights, then dark, and swirling, and i went up, up, up.
and went through these cloud like things, i burst through them, i was angry. he was up there, with a few others, i got as bright as i could, and demanded that they leave me alone to my life, that i didnt want to feel him around anymore poking his nose in things pretty much, and if he continued i would rip him apart. they agreed. and i left in a flurry. they havent bothered me since.
but that lady, i think she was part nut job, then whatever this "being" was was using her on top of it.
i dont know if he was who he said he was or not, though i doubt it as well cause like you said andiekeins, why would they want to mess with us like that on a daily basis.
this lady did channeling for money. i met her in a metaphysical book store, and we just met eyes, i was drawn to talk to her, and when im drawn to something i listen.
so i hoped i helped her somehow, whatever her problem was. it was kinda like a voluntary parasite/host situation. i dont know, i just thought i would share the story, and see what people thought of channelers.

Unfortunately I have had this gift all my life...it does wreck havoc now, and that because spirit entities automatically jump into my physical realm...
when I was in hospital 5 and a half years ago...I terrified my best friend witchiepo...I spoke 6 ancient languages...one being ancient Latin..old tongue Maori...one may have been Mayan Indian...what she also seen was my eyes had changed from brown to emerald green..my skin darker olive...some sort of small golden crown around my head...she also saw 4 promenint beings behind me...
To say the least she tried to tell the doctors that not only could I see way in the past..I also had a habit of seeing into the future...
Low, and behold they did not BELIEVE her, saying that it is impossible for any human to do this...
Goes to show you that there are a lot of non-believers out there whom do not understand the parallel realm of the 13 heavens...

I'll have to agree with Andie here. This sounds fishy. There are no archangels named Michaelangelo and a supposed being of "God" wouldn't posses someone unwillingly like that. I'm going to go with the "true self" theory here.
Of course, I just have a quick question: is this a pagan support group or a christian one? I mean.. i just joined so i'm not exactly sure? I mean.. talking about "God" and archangels and such...? -

This is a Pagan group, Hlks. It's for all sorts of Pagans; all are welcome. Dracona was decribing something that had happened to her which did involve a supposed Archangel.

I think that anyone with these sort of claims should be approached with caution; Houdini certainly showed how easily these things can be faked. And mass hypnosis is certainly easier when the audience is willing. I am not saying that it is false, but that it is very easy TO fake this sort of thing. That being said, only you can truly know what you felt and how it affected you; most people in the same or similar circumstances would have widely varying reactions. And only you, Dracona, can know for sure exactly what you felt. Just be careful.
