new to group- alone and lonely

I don't know what to say..
I'm horribly lonely and sad. It is another long day and it isn't even noon.
My husband works incredibly weird hours and rotating shifts, my daughter is a teenager and I'm not sure she even lives here anymore, she's gone so much.
I'm still mourning the loss of a beloved dog, who was my constant companion and shadow..he actually started out as a therapy dog and just grew into so much more. He was one of the greatest loves and joy of my life.
I spend a great deal of time by myself and his huge saint bernard presence is greatly missed and left a hole in my heart.
I am dx Atypical bi-polar and the manic moods are stable with meds however the depression always remains to varying degrees. The last few days have been awful. I also have an eating disorder and that is an on-going battle. I'm agoraphobic/xenophobic so that doesn't help.
Just looking for people to talk with, to help combat the lonliness
thanks for letting me go on

Oh my, I know what it is to lose a beloved pet, it is very hard, because they are like a baby to ya. I get so depressed at times i don't answer the phone, and do not go anywhere. So I am with ya there!!!! Right now I have my Cloe who is a Jack Russell, and she is my pride and joy, she is always there for me when I am down, up, crying, lonely etc....pets don't talk back to ya, don't stab ya in the back, just want to give you that unconditional love!!! Have a great weekend hugs Mamag

Hello and welcome. There are so many great people here. If I hadn't found this site, I would go stir crazy. My bf works on the barges so he's here odd hours also, he will be gone for 8 days and then home for six or seven. I too just lost my beloved dog Wolfy, he was a cut fluffy toy pomeranian, pure black. He was my constant companion although he wasn't as big a ball of love like your Great Dane!!Hopefully you will find the strength and support you need here. P.S. I too have a teenage daughter and she basically either wants a houseful of friends her (which my nerves arent always equipped for all the time) or she is off to someone elses...Sounds like we have alot in common where do you live? If you ever need a friend I'm here...

I too had not one, but two, beloved dogs who I cherished. Being lonely like you, my whole life revolved around them, so I understand your missing your dog.

Are there activities in your community you can join? Any hobbies that you have that maybe you can share with others? Do you belong to a church where you may be able to meet people? Are there volunteer opportunities in your community that you could join?

It sounds like if your husband and daughter are normally not home, then you need to pursue activities that will allow you to get out and meet some people.

Welcome
