Hello to the group. I just joined. A member on the Women Only group Brisa Chica mentioned everyminute to me. We support each other having depression. My family has a history of mental illness. My young nephew that committed suicide at 18 had chronic depression. Several close family members deal with bi polar I and II. Depression was more on my momâ??s side. The bi polar tends to run on my dadâ??s side. She suffered for years with it not knowing it was depression.

I deal with cirrhosis and depression. I was once said to be bi polar but a wrong diagnoses. I can get depression bad if I do not watch for it. The periods you donâ??t even want to get out of bed and face life. I do every thing I can to prevent going that deep in depression again. Meds help but nothing is 100%.

I am a pet owner. I have a Weimaraner almost 17 years now, one calico cat, and the new addition is a Olde English Bulldogge puppy. They are my companions and joy.

I enjoy piddling with art. Sculpting is what I do best but I like drawing and starting to freshen up some painting skills. I was just put on SSD so have replaced lighter things I enjoy now. The skis are gone and the kayak is up for sale. I can still drive most the time so am thankful for that.

I hope I am able to contribute to the mental illness goals the group has.
