God's encouragement and ideas from others
Posted on 08/21/08, 06:28 pm
I have been battling depression for years. SO MANY different meds that I can't even remember them all. It seems that just a little encouragement from anyone with simple ideas to help get your mind off of the not having any kind of feelings helps. Ideas that have helped others over the years is nice to hear about and it gives me hope.
When and how will I ever beat this / or just feel a little happiness in my life time I give my mind, heart, soul, and strengthen to God.

There is a lot you can do to deal with depression. Here are some things that I do, but the main thing is to take care of yourself. I read my Bible, pray, exercise, watch a movie, eat icecream, hang out with friends, play with kids at work/church, tell others about Christ, read a book, play the flute, sing, travel, read, and the list could go on. I don't take meds because they make me worst in such a way that I cannot function. I hope this helps. -

The first thing I do in the morning is I ask God to get into my head before I do. Then I meditate and pray. Then I start my day doing the bathroom thing and getting dressed then I have a good balanced breakfast. If something in my day doesn't go right I start my day over with a short prayer. I only take "One Day at a Time" I don't plan the outcome of my plans, I let them happen. I always remember there is hope for a better tomorrow. Tom -

I often rely on the power of faith. Remembering that He does not make mistakes, and the fact that He placed us in this life for a reason. There have been times where I couldn't even get out of bed, and knowing how I did have the strength to overcome those feelings surely gives me hope.
Often I do think how I will fight my depression in the future, not to mention how it kills my self-esteem, but I know I am only running away from my issues. Deep down the depression bothers me, I know that only I can take care of myself... And, reaching out is the best thing to do.
Have faith...That's what helps me. -
