JUVENILE DIABETES! http://www.jdf.org/
DID YOU KNOW every 3 min a new child is diagnosed with diabetes? Babies can be born with diabetes. Children can get type 1- insulin dependent. They have to give themselves insulin EVERYDAY to live, with out it they would die. They can also get type 2. Can mean a pill everyday - and diet control. Either way it's very frustraiting for the child and the parents. Diabetes is very agressive in its ways. Every day it's a battle- food, weather, the way the are feeling, puberty all play a part in this cronic illness.
I had 3 doctors look at my daughter CAMERON- I asked why her? WELLLL...it could be passed down (her granpa died from type 1) it can be from trauma to the body- (she had her tonsiles out 3 months prior) and it can come from a virus in the pancres. All in all they don't know why?
She suffers daily, she gets mad, she gets scared, she cries, she must stop playing and deal with it, her fingers are raw. WE NEED A CURE PLEASE! FOR MY CAMERON! JDF Thanks- kelly mom of CAMERON type 1 kiddo -

My favorite is the Shriners Hospital for Children. I am posting a little bit of information from their site.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs.
Children up to the age of 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment at no charge regardless of financial need.

I'm am once again raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I feel that there are few, if any that have not been affected by cancer some how or some way.

National Eating Disorders Association. It helps raise money to pay for the very expensive treatment centres for women who need help. It also helps with awareness and understanding of EDs.
