Subject: May 9, 2008 - NEED 1000 emails by 5/11/08 - please help please send e-mail and forward
Hi everyone. I know all of you were as upset and outraged over the Michael Vick dog fighting and animal abuse case as I was. Due in large part to the work and many efforts of one individual, the facts of this case were brought to light and Vick is now serving time and many of the dogs that would have otherwise died at terrible death have been saved. The agent who led the Michael Vick investigation deserves recognition by his agency. Please write to Secretary of Agriculture Ed Schafer and request that he nominate Special Agent Jim Knorr for this honor.
Below is an email that has been sent - you need not be long-winded - just a couple of sentences will do. We would like Mr. Schafer to come to work on Monday morning and have 1000 emails waiting for him that ask him to nominate Agent Knorr for his tremendous work and efforts Please forward this email widely.
Contact Mr. Schafer at: AgSec@usda.gov

Dear Secretary Schafer,
Please nominate Special Agent Jim Knorr for the IACP Police Officer of the year for his work on the Michael Vick case. Without his determination, drive, and dedication, this case likely would have had a very different outcome. Stopping dog fighting, animal abuse and informing the public about these cases is an important step in stopping animal cruelty. The deadline for submitting the nomination is June 2, 2008. I believe that Special Agent Knorr is deserving of this recognition and hope you do also.

I agree the guy deserves some kind of recognition. I was worried there that this case would have a different outcome, just because Vick is so popular. But thank god for this guy. -

Meet Leo. He's a cheerful greeter who loves cuddles and hugs. He spends his free time sharing his affection with the sick and elderly at a local area hospital (having recently passed his therapy dog tests with flying colors). He also spent the first part of his life under the dark, demeaning ownership of Michael Vick.
Yes,Leo is one of the 50 dogs confiscated from the football stars property late last year-although to meet him now you'd never guess his at his unfortunate beginnings. Wherever he goes he garners adoring smiles and effusive compliments. "what a sweet boy" "where'd you get him,he's so well-behaved." To which he responds with tail wags and dreamy gazes. His most adoring fans are school children.
It's amazing to watch, surprising to some, and yet to those who know the Pit Bull breed, not a surprise at all. Leo is the consummate example of true Pit Bull spirit. He has made a quick ascension to stardom despite his beginnings. Ace-ing his obedience classes, playing and socializing with other dogs, and revealing himself to be an ambassador for all canines, not just Pit Bulls. He already works as a therapy dog with Therapy Dogs Inc. http://www.therapydogs.com/ and is invited weekly to a local South Bay hospital, bringing comfort and smiles to all. The staff there are firm supporters even calling him Dr.Leo for his healing touch. All in less than two months.
Leos trainer,Marthina McClay (and foster mom) states "I've worked with hundreds of dogs and people are drawn to Leo,I can't get over his popularity,I've never had a dog so magnetic. He's such a tenderheart the Casanova of dogs,he's amazing.
Of course Leo would gloss over his accomplishments, politely taking a seat beside you,,gaze up at you with his dreamy eyes and talk to you about how he enjoys Sunday afternoons playing with his doggie brothers and sisters, looking forward to visiting more people next week.
This is the true American Pit Bull terrier: resilient ,people-loving,willing to please, and just so good hearted! -

Am a million miles away from Canada in Scotland, but any dog fighting or animal abuse case deserves a very strong punishment, We might never end this needless act completely but we can be strong in doing our best to keep it controlled. We have just managed to ban the cruel sport of fox hunting here which is needless and leads to a violent death, but no one is daft we know it still goes on. the punishment is put them through what the poor animals did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
