Why????

Posted on 07/07/08, 08:44 pm
Why do I eat the things I am not suppose to like bread (my all time favorite food)? Does anyone else eat what they're not suppose to and then get mad at themselves?

I do this way too often. I have been eating more the past two weeks since I've returned to work. I'm very upset with myself over it. I am on a major starch kick.

We get mad at ourselves when we need to be the most gentle. For example, I'm eating now because I'm stressed. I don't need to be mad at myself and add more stress. I need to be loving and gentle with myself and find ways to comfort myself and relieve the stress other than through eating.

Lets be gentle with ourselves and with each other.

I am not sure what to eat! This makes it hard to get myself on track! When I was a teenager I had an eating disorder and harldy ate at all and then I became an adult and all I had heard as a kid is "you're too skinny, you don't eat" and that played in my head as I ate whatever I wanted and gained quite a bit of weight! Now that I have diabetes, I need to lose weight and all the things I eat seem to be bad for me, it's so fustrating!!!

My sugar was 206 again this morning!!! I don't know what to eat, I didn't have much yesterday but I am guessing the 2 wine coolers at the cookout must have brought my sugar up so high....

Be careful with wine and other alcohol. It can raise our sugars, for sure, but it can also cause us to drop low very quickly. I struggle with cookouts because I really have to think on my feet when choosing what to eat.
