Who Am I?

Life is a ball
And our faces the masks
The chandeliers rattle
Then fall and they crash
We all keep on dancing
Around those whoâ??ve fallen
The orchestra plays
And the dancing is solemn
My hope is a cymbal
In harmonyâ??s side
I fall down the staircase
And then my mask slides
I run to a mirror
To see my true face
Who am I? I need to know.
Where is my place?
I see for an instant
A face bloody and mauled
The mirror explodes
And I hear my name called
Inside there is darkness
I climb up inside
The tunnel is dark
Just a few meters wide
And as I get closer
To the light at the end
It tapers more narrow
I melt and descend
Then light is around me
Within me as well
My face is beautiful
I wear it well

I like your way with words. This was very moving. Sad, yet enchanting. May you always see your beauty.

    Thanks for sharing this :o)

I too long for the world without masks and to find myself, finding my face beautiful. I think the ending was a nice turn about.
