Time is short...enjoy it
Posted on 05/05/08, 10:19 am
When I was facing single motherhood (at 5 weeks prego) my mother said to me "Enjoy it because it goes by fast" That was 21 years ago! I hate it when she is right! He is now 20 and off to university and I see him when I can. It went by so dang fast. In the blink of an eye.
Do yourselves a favor: savor the moment!
In a flash that little person looking at you right now will be out of the house and you will be saying how did that happen!
Also, give yourself credit! No matter how bad things get...it will pass! As mothers God has given us strength beyond belief. It is this strength that, when the going gets tough, we reach down into the depth of our souls and pull out! It is there...I promise.
I never honored myself for the job I was doing. I do now but I should have when it was going on.
So, I honor you. Remember-they need you no matter what. Just hold them, tell them you love them and enjoy that you are needed!

Its always nice to hear positive feedback! So many things in life are so negative and its nice to hear such encouraging words...Everyone just needs to remember YOUR NOT ALONE! Times will be tough, but there are so many people out there to turn to for advice. Someone, somewhere has dealt with these issues and they are here to talk about it. I am new here, but just from reading others perspectives on certain issues, is encouraging. You can never get time back, so ENJOY! -

As I sit here right now thinking about my husband moving out this weekend, I think about all the things he's giving up and going to miss out on. I am sad for him and us, but I realize that I still have my chances with our children and I hate that this is making it difficult for me to get myself up and enjoy it. I will get there and ecouraging entries like this one help. Thank you. -

You are so right - time flies by so quickly. By oldest "baby" still requires a LOT of care because of her illnesses, but I can't believe she's already 17. Then there are my twin baby boys, who are no longer babies (they turned 7 in April), but I just can't seem to get a grip on that. Time goes by too quickly in a "normal" life, but ours is packed so full that I literally cannot comprehend how quickly they are growing. Whenever I see babies, I try to think back to when mine were that little, and I just want to cry when I think how quickly the time has passed. I do try to enjoy the good moments, though - thank you for the encouraging words.
