I had one of these when I was younger (21/22) until he moved to Canada. It was a good arrangement at the time because I was recovering from a major depression and could not cope with mental and emotional attachment.
Now I'm older, fatter(curses to meds and diabetes) and generally hideous, I've lost confidence and don't really speak to people I don't know in general.
Anyway- anyone else find this kind of arrangement has helped them?

Interestingly enough, my ex-wife. After she moved out, we both figured we already knew our way around each other, and we both knew where we had been. -

I'd hate it. I'd get involved and so it would be a disaster. -

i am a buddy 2 hrs a week, prefer to make it to 2 weeks as not to get involved.Just the 2 hrs and nothing more, like business arangement, no telephones or mails in between; but it is a kind of help, all contact helps . you are right there avoid loneliness. -

I have 2 of those relationships right now. However, I cannot say for sure if they are really benefiting me as I wish that I could be more to one of them
