BlondiePA's Pull Free A Thon

Posted on 06/24/08, 10:59 pm
Hey Everyone,
I have been battling Trich for the last fourteen years and am finding it harder than ever to control my urge to pull. I pull my head hair, eyebrows and lashes, and although I have had short stints without pulling, I am struggling with this disorder.
I was advised to check out this discussion board from another member of your group who has experienced success from the support and knowledge she has gained from this site. I am hoping to follow in her footsteps and break this vicious cycle I have become trapped in.
Trying to kick trich!

That is exactly how I have felt as well.....all of us feel like hypocrits when we are doing well and sharing what's working for us and then we fall!!!

But like others have said....those things still work. We are just struggling to find the balance where we can do everything we need to do consistently......and several of us are finding that when we let down our guard for just a little bit, trich sneaks back up on us. But hey! The good news is that we're learning even in that experience and are now able to share with others how to get back up on the horse!!!

So several of us are starting over.......join in and keep posting. No one is judging you here!!!!!

Hey there, I'm brand new to this - day 1 -- and some of your postings really resonated with me so I wanted to say hi and I hope you're staying pull-free. Even if you are pulling at the moment, I'm sure you will not let it last. You are going to keep making progress, because you've got a positive attitude. I know that because the positivity in a few of your posts has rubbed off on me! Stay with it.

I remember the stress when I was student teaching. I pulled a lot then too. Try to find ways to manage your stress. Remember this student teaching will only last for a short season. Then you will leave this situation and enter one where you have more control. Relax, sleep, and try to get stuff done early rather than procrastinating. I'll be praying for you.

Welcome

You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Oh what a relief. This board is for people that are serious about learning all they can about Trichotillomania. Yep that big old long word that is the bane of our world. Trich is tricky. But with knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. So lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
