Alright, so now I'm up to.. 6 days! Almost a week.. then I can start going by weeks, rather than days... that always makes me feel better. I was doing so well on my own and then had a relapes, but since I've found this board.. I feel way better!! I'm so glad there is a support system out there!

You are doing great. This is definitely a great place to find support and understanding because noone else seems to understand how hard it is to resist the urge to pull your hair out for a whole day. Almost a week - way to go! it will get easier xxx

Glad to hear you sounding so positive.

    6 days is wonderful!!!!

I still count my days as days. I'd forget if I did it by the week. LOL. Plus it gives me a push to see the days add up. But to each their own.

    Keep up the good work

Going right at it aren't you. Good Job!!

Trying reading the Stop Pulling Tips and see if anything there will help you for those times when the urges hit.

    WTG on a full week!!!!

I'm still doing good... trying to keep busy so that I don't get the urge to pull... having the boys around really helps! :) I have made a pact with myself, that I will only pull if I am the only one home. And that NEVER happens ever. So therefore, I can't pull! :)

I'm so happy that you are doing so well.

I'm concerned about your "pact" tho. We trichsters tend to pull when alone anyhow since we don't want others to know what we do so that idea may not be the best even tho you say you are never alone. You may start searching out places to be alone in times of stress like say the bathroom.

I suggest you read the Reward Yourself Topic and use that instead. Reverse the "pact" You will give your self something NICE if you DON"T pull.

Having kids around are a great distraction since you get to play with them and that keeps your hands busy. LOL.

    Keep up the good work.

Never heard of a pact like that, only a person always surrounded by people would even conceive of such a thing.
I would be afraid of giving myself permission to pull under any circumstances, because once you resume pulling you are just reigniting the desire and the ordeal starts again. I think of it as an appetite. The more you feed it the stronger it gets.
Congratulations on remaining pull free for a whole week, things get a little less rocky after the first week.

I have been doing really well... although the hair on the front of my head feel really funny. They are smooth hairs, and they are driving me crazy. If I don't touch them, I'm okay... but knowing that they are there... ugh.

I am literally NEVER alone in my house. It's really weird. My husband works 7 days a week, and I am home with the boys all the time. Even when I go to the bathroom... someone follows me in there!! And I try to not even look in the mirror when I go in there... and if I have my wig on- then I can't pull. So.. I don't want to pull around the boys, because I don't want them to see me hurt like that... if that makes sense.

I am doing well... and I'm proud of myself. I love this site- it really helps so much to know that I'm not the lone odd haired person! :)

Great job on making it to two weeks. Hopefully, not pulling will become more natural for you and the urges will lose some of their power now that you've managed to make it so long without pulling.

    Keep up the good work

You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Oh what a relief. This board is for people that are serious about learning all they can about Trichotillomania. Yep that big old long word that is the bane of our world. Trich is tricky. But with knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. So lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
