Browneyed Pull Free (lower lashes)
Posted on 04/02/08, 01:25 pm
I've been pull free on upper's for 2 weeks and have pretty much all of the uppers back, just need not to pull anymore, and I'm on my way. I've transfered to lowers in the past two weeks and pulled a lot but not all of them and they are sparse at the moment. I get that itch and that triggers it like you would not believe! I'm starting my pull free days on the lower's today! I can do this!!

this may soun funny but I just got sick of pulling the uppers. I would hate myself or be depressed even if i pulled just one and would beat myself up so I just stopped. Yeah it should get easier. I need to focus on more important things in my life like my twin boys rather than pulling my eyelashes. As for the lowers I know I can do it, its hard cause they are sparse in a few spots and that makes me want to pull more, but I won't. The itching is still there, but I have resisted each and every time i get it. I also use a growth enhancer on them so that gives me incentive not to pull. -

18 days upper
5 days lower
lowers take long to regrow. i guess i will need another month or so.
it's wierd how you will notice when they fall out naturally, i guess i pay too much attention to them, but I'm not pulling! I had 3-4 fall out naturally in my outer corner, looks a little sparse in that area, but im sure they will grow fast since i didn't pull them out! -

Were those outer ones some of the first ones to grow back?
May I suggest that if they are coming out when you are clearing the sleepy from your eyes that instead of rubbing them when you just wake up and the sleep is dry that you get a warm washcloth and put it across your eyes to moisten the sleep so it will wipe away easier. Or use mineral oil on a Q-tip. I use the mineral oil to remove my make up. It also makes the skin smooth and helps to keep the urges down.
Remember when they are long it's not an excuse to pull because you think they are going to fall out on their own anyhow. (we've talked about this). Let them live their full life. Don't rub them too hard either trying to hurry it up. That's Trich talking to you. Tell him to shut up!!!!
Congrats on your days!!!! You are going Great!!!! -

I think those lashes that fell out were already out, I barely touched them. I will try using a q tip next time. Its kinda bare in that area right now, just two little lashes that look kinda loose as well. I also see two little ones growing too.
crzychick i did email you, but I know I shouldn't touch the long ones and should let them live their full life. I've been doing good with them since that one time we've talked about it. It's all anxiety talking when i worry about the long ones! LOL -

Ok....so last night I had something in my eye and when to get it out and pulled a lash out and it came out so easy like it wasn't even attached! Does this count as pulling, cause i did pull it out with my fingers.
If it doesnt then I'm at
UPPERS 21 DAYS
LOWERS 8 DAYS

Hummm thats a tricky question. My answer is do YOU feel that you should start your days over? We can't say for you. If there is always an excuse then are you really becoming pull free? Don't mean to sound harsh. But Trich will talk to you that way.
So look inside you. If you truly feel it was an accident and it fell out then go on with your days. But by you even asking us the question I think you are doubting if it was an accident. Just my opinion.
Remember if you do restart days you only restart if it was an upper or lower. The other days stay the same. You don't restart days on both.
Either way. You are doing a good job!!! ((HUGS)) -

I only say this because you had the "sleep in your eye" issue a while back. I don't want you to be looking for a way to explain away reasons why. If that makes sense. Yes lashes will fall out on their own. That is normal shedding.
Just try to not play with them. Or use a warm cloth to loosen anything that might be caught/dried in them before trying to remove it. -

ok, so i pulled 3 lashes last night, they were those fricken long ones that just popped out like nothing, my lashes still look decent, but I will now have to start my upper lashes pull free a thon over from day zero today! ugh! Lately i noticed they have been shedding 2 maybe 3 a day when i wash my face and that is fustrating me, i know that lashes shed but it's been more than normal, maybe its shedding time for me!
So I'm at:
Upper lashes - 0 days
Lower lashes - 10 days -

i just wanted to add that i think i pull more when i shed more, cause it fustrates me to see many fall out at the same time or a few a day and i feel the need to pull...i need to get over that and i think i will be golden! it's just getting there and not touching them cause i find myself touching them even if i don't pull. i will get in that mirror and look at them and touch them....i did it before where i didn't touch them at all for like two weeks and then i started again. So starting today, no touching, no pulling!!!!! -

You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Oh what a relief. This board is for people that are serious about learning all they can about Trichotillomania. Yep that big old long word that is the bane of our world. Trich is tricky. But with knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. So lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
