That is sad to hear that, that store can be so cruel towards you and who knows to any other woman that were in your situation.
Had it been me I would had left the store with their clothing and told them to stick it because that is absolutely ridiculous that they do not believe your own words and need some stupid paper to prove you had a miscarriage.

I was floored to learn that motherhood would not refund my money for the clothes that I bought not 2 hours before. My mother, excited abou my pregnancy took me shopping. The store had a 10 day return policy, which we were informed of. After getting home we relalized that one of the shirts would not work with a pair of pants we had bought. We immedicately tried to return the shirt and were told we could only recieve in-store credit although we paid with cash. Then they informed us of thier policy, no instore credit unless within 10 days you have a miscarriage AND YOU BRING A NOTE CONFIRMING THE MISCARRAGE FROM YOUR DOCTOR!
Ladies, I don't have to tell you how hard it would be to have a doctor put in writing your loss and be required to show some teenage clerk at Motherhood what feels like a failure of your own body to have a sucessful pregnacy! I decided to keep the cloths. But I was outraged about the lack of this company to understand thier customers' needs.
Then, I got a bill from my doctor. When I was pregnant and showing up to my visits, I was told that I would only be billed the one inital co-pay and then the insurance would cover the rest of my care. (I inquired a few times.) After the miscarrage I got a bill for the co-pays for each of the visits I had had during my pregnancy. Calling the billing office I was told that if they would have recieved compensation from a delivery, then they would not have billed me, but since the pregnacy ended, I needed to pay. I was actually punished for my loss. Can you believe it?
I have had two miscarriaged and although I put a lot of unnessesary guilt on my shoulders, it is the behavior of others that really sends the message that I somehow failed.

I have to say it seems illegal to ask a woman for some sort of medical note or history inorder to return items after a miscarriage. I cannot believe a store like that would have such a cruel and embarassing policy. As for the insurance thing, that too makes me upset. It is not your fault you miscarried and the insurance company seems to be punishing you. I too feel like sometimes its the rest of the world that makes you suffer so much after pregnancy loss. -

I can't believe how insensitive the world can be about our situations. I can't believe that about Motherhood. Really makes me wonder if I want to shop there, should I need to in the future. -

i cannot believe that Motherhood actually has a miscarriage policy! that is an insult to all women, whether or not they miscarry. why must the heartache we are all feeling be the buisness of a teen who has no idea where babies even com from?!?!?!?
