I hope I am posting in the correct community, if not, please feel free to tell me and let me know where I should post.

I am new to daily strength and from what I've seen, it looks like one of the best sites I've came across.

I have been on lamictal for 2 days at 12.5 mgs.The doctor started me on the orange starter kit. I know I am supposed to take 25 mgs to start, but she said that I could break it in half for a few days if it made me feel better. I am afraid of the rash as I'm sure that most who start this medication are.

My question is has anyone noticed a big difference who took this medication for depression? I do have anxiety also, but she thinks the paxil will continue to help with that. I also take xanax for the anxiety and sleep 1-2 mgs a day.

I am so med sensitive and I am scared to death of medications because of a severe reaction that I once had to sulfa.

I've spoken with a couple pharmicists also and both felt that this is a great medication.

I would love to hear from anyone who has or is taking Lamicatl and their experience with it.

I am praying this medication works for me. I never admitted it until recently but I have been so miserable and unhappy for years. I don't feel anything, nothing excites me, I look forward to nothing. I just function day to day. It's all that I can do to go to work. I thought that I was going to have to quit, but I know that we can't afford it, so the University that I work for was kind enough to let me work half days at the University and half days at home this summer.

I guess I am looking for reassurance and positive feedback that there is hope of this medicine giving me my life back and some of the depression that I have lived with for years will subside.

I wish everyone hear the best and look forward to responding with you.

Thank you in advance.

Becky

" I have not tried Lamictal but had really bad side effects with both Paxil and Xanax. Everyone is different and only you can be the judge of whether they help you or not. My advice is to try the meds and let your doc know if they are helping or not. Also, keep in mind that it often takes 4 - 6 weeks before any change (positive or negative) will be apparent. Hope this helps. "
