I marinate meats in it.

Chicken and pork for about an hour or 2.

Beef for 2 hours or overnight.

I also use the dry italian dressing mix packets for seasoning homemade croutons or for sprinkling lightly over meats before roasting or grilling.

Chicken marinated in Italian dressing is great. I often freeze chicken breasts with dressing right in the bag. Then when I want to cook it, I just thaw it, dump the contents of the bag into a pan, and throw it in the oven. (You can do this with any kind of vinagrette, not just italian dressing.)
