I'm able to eat potatoes for example as long as it's the size of half a normal baked potatoe.  I buy the smallest baking potatoes I can find and zap them in the microwave. By that I mean, the taste or nutrition is negligible to me, so i just totally cut them out of my diet.  Diabetes has given me a crash course on becoming a label reader.Lunch today is a case in point.Had the choice of using 12 grain bread or a whole wheat tortilla.I assumed the tortilla would be far less than the bread....]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[I totally second the diabetes ed class idea! My provider (a very large clinic) "made" me go through it. It was a total of 5 hours, but I came away with a good bit of info. There are some good <a href="http://dailystrength.org/treatments/Reading" onclick="treatmentHotLink('http://dailystrength.org/treatments/Reading')" class="treatmentlink" title="Learn more about Books">books</a> out there as well (The ADA has a bunch).
