    About Me

I live within commuting distance from Cincinnati, where I am a partner in a business. My wife and I have a small farm, where we keep horses, dogs, and cats. I was raised in suburbia, but always wanted to live in the sticks, so here I am. I've recieved a lot of support from the Alcoholism group, and I try to give some back as well. There is so much more to life than drinking!

    Interests

Outdoor activities, including running, cycling, horseback riding, kayaking, skiiing, and anything else I can try. Also reading fiction, watching a good move, and eating a good meal!

    • Close Alcoholism

I was a binge drinker from the age of 15-26. At 27, I started to drink every day, and worked myself up to 8-12 beers per day. My body finally rebelled, and I have realized this is a progressive thing. I finally admitted this problem to myself in 5/07 and I've been taking steps to quit.

      Treatments

      Cold Turkey Working / Worked
Irritability on day 4. Sweats and pounding heart for at least a month. Things began to get better after that.
      Willpower Working / Worked
Still working. I occasionally fail, but on the whole, I'm sober. I drink A LOT less than I used to. That may not be completely dry, but you should have seen me last year.
