Male, 60. Successfully married; second try. Three kids of mine, three of hers, all adults. Four grandangels. Interested in friendship. Slap and tickle days way behind. I have a lot of teen friends.   I am 59 years old, have had depression on and off since I was 13. I have three grown children, and am twice married. Currently, I am having a relapse of depression.

  Have used Citalopram for eight years. Seems to have stopped working

  Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
  
  Writing Somewhat Helpful
  
  have kept a journal for ten years. Writing sometimes tames my thoughts.
  
  Zoloft Working / Worked
  
  used for about two years, then tapered off. Brought me out of a serious episode of depression.
- Close Depression - Teen
  Father of 1 son, two daughters. Have major depression, treated. 59 years old. Grandfather of one. Divorced and remarried 5 years. Afflicted w/depression for over 40 years. Alive, and thriving!

  Believe it "faded" after eitht years. Added Wellbutrin, and that seems to work.

  Works well if I am not at the botom of an episode

  Two cats and a dog. Fur people are good company.

  Again, when not at a bottom, this is helpful.

  My wife and I see a good counselor together. She is a godsend.

- Open Bipolar Disorder
  see BobCJ in depression. Very rare manic episodes, followed by a "springback" effect. I go pretty high, recede to a medium low, then rise to "normal" until the next gradual slide back to major depression

  Celexa Working / Worked
  
  Worked six years, then faded. Still take max. dose. Never any side effects.
  
  Group Therapy Working / Worked
  
  Al-Anon meetings. Incredibly successful
  
  Wellbutrin Working / Worked
  
  Wellbutrin lifted me off the bottom three weeks after inception of treatment
  
  Physical Exercise Working / Worked
  
  A worked out body seems to give my mind an easier place to rest
