A widows ring,, a black band of mourning, added to my ring finger helped me to accept my loss. The ring is a visible touchable symbol of my grief and promises to "remember".....
When I 1st put the ring on - was the 1st time I rembered how to 'breath" again. This idea is not for every widow or widower, it was right for me. |

I have been a widow for 7 months. I really like the idea of a mourning ring. I never heard of it before. A girlfriend said she heard of making wedding ring(s) into cross to wear on a chain around your neck. I like the idea, but probably too expensive for me to even consider. Right now it feels right to still wear my wedding ring.

I think this might be a good idea as iv took my wedding ring off as i got so upset all the time remembering the day my darling John put it on 37yeas ago it would have been 38th November 1st 2008 but it wasn't to be so im going to have a look for a black ring my heart is broken.

I have never heard of one of these rings. I may try it. I do wear my husbands wedding band on my index finger. Thansk for the idea.

I feel the same way about the tattoo I got in remberence of my husband. It is a shell withthe ocean and sand around it. In the middle is a banner with his name on it. I can see it, touch it, rub it and it always will be there. Just like my love for him. I miss him. tody is his 55th birthday.
