Every year under Bush we've been spending far more than we've taken in. This year that number is approaching 1/2 trillion dollars.

We're borrowing the difference from China, meaning that they can now call our shots, tell us what to do.

I'd consider this a national security issue, wouldn't you?

I mean, a broke nation can't defend itself.

" Hmm, according to our Central Intelligence Agency, our total debt has increased by a half trillion dollars every year since 2003.

Our own Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) call these numbers unsustainable.

I'd say this was a national security issue. "

" What are the candidates going to do about this?

We don't know because the press has been too busy talking about Brittney Spears and lipstick on pigs. "
