" Amazed this hasn't been touched yet...

some will say I am not able to comment since I have not served, but I am aforded the right to express my opinion regardless, because this is the USA....

I think the troops should stay until there is demonsterable evidence that iraq an stand on its own. Reasons we are there are past now, the fact is, we have troops on the ground. I think it is better to get the job done right versus leave it done half way ready to fall. "

Max, I totally agree with this post on all counts. We also need to make sure that when we do withdarw troops that we can do so in an ordewrly and safe manner. We also have lots of equipment and facilities to do things with. I'll never understand how some think this is a thing that could be done in days or weeks. It for sure will take months. "

" As we have seen during WWII and the Korean Conflict, it has been NECESSARY to have troops remain in country.
Unlike before, the new age thought is a bit off center and cannot understand the need to have troops with specific knowledge and skills to remain in the area.
We are in Korea, Germany for a reason... and over the years it has proven to a benefit to have such forces remain.
TO BAD the mommies, daddies and others who want to spoonfeed and cuddle the forces think it necessary to move out full force.

I am of old school and it does prevail... time will tell if our future does elect to bring all forces home... and we are once again faced with loss on the homefront. "

You don't have to have a husband ro Wife there to have an opinion. Many have other family members that are there as well. "

1. No it's not your problem and your sacked out ego isn't anyone else's problem. Just because you live and are free to speak your mind in this country, doesn't make the country's problems your problems. How and when we withdraw will take serious effort, resources and intelligent planning.

2. How about a son and some friends? "

" Some companies invest money and time to train people for their specific roles within that company. These people get compensated in exchange for something in consideration.

The military soldier knows what he is getting into. He receives benefits in exchange for doing what he was trained for. It was never a bait and switch scheme by the military to get these soldiers into signing up.

My ex-husband is in the military and he is willing to put his life in line to defend us. He'd rather die for a cause he believes in. "
