VIN II/ Laser Therapy

Hi, I'm Emma and I'm 20 years old. Within the past year I have had two seperate surgeries to complete biopsies for vulvar cancer due to VIN II from HPV, and both have come back benign. I also belong to the webmd message blogs for HPV/genital warts but I have found most people to be asking questions about warts and nobody really relating to my current experiences. At the beginning of the week I got laser therapy to remove extensive VIN on my vulva, and wondered if anybody could tell me their expeirence with this? I have a few friends with HPV also but nobody has been having these kinds of problems and found this site maybe I could relate more to the other members than others. The first two days after the surgery were actually alot better than I thought, but yesterday and today have been horrible with lots of pain (especially when peeing), and just wondered others experiences especially because I'm on spring break right now and am going back to school..and away from my mom :(...on Sunday. How long does it normally take for these kinds of things to heal? Any advice or others experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Emma

" I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I hope your pain is better. I've had so many laser treatments and surgeries I can't count them. It probably hurts more because the swelling is going down. I've found that you can't soak in the tub enough! Also, a squirt bottle with warm water really helps when you pee. Other than that, it will just take time. I'm sorry you have to go through this (hugs). "

" Well its starting to feel better thank goodness. Still uncomfortable when I go to the bathroom but all in all I do feel okay. I'm nervous though because from what I've seen it sounds like this is the beginning of a long cycle of laser therapy treatments? "

" I will be scheduled for Laser surgery upcoming after ineffective wide local excision bilaterally (5/08). Can anyone tell me what to expect - pain, time off work, healing, etc. Any info would be helpful. I've been doing lots of searches via internet since diagnosed 4/08.
Thank you! "
