I am addicted to games and want to stop. Is there any way I can just be like other people again and just play with friends every now and then or should I distance myself from games forever?

Im the same way, iv thought about distracting myself but i cant because all i want to do is work out but i cant because were renevating so what do i distract my self with now?

Everybody is different so I cannot say what you will or will not be able to do as far as playing games somewhat goes. However, from what I know, unfortunately, for most truly addicted people, they will not be able to play video games again without risking becoming addicted again. However, perhaps in time if they deal with any underlying causes of their addiction, they may be able to do so then.
The first and most important thing for you is to stop playing the games now. Later, you may want to check on whether or not you can go back to playing them responsibly or not. Good luck.
