It has ruined my life.I can not step away from my pc with out constantly thinking about gaming.I don't go on dates anymore. I find hard to work or come up with excuses to miss work so I can game.I got discharged from the Army because I didn't get my GED because I was to busy gaming.I can game for 10 hours straight.I go to bed then wake up and game more.I can not control myself anymore.I spent money I shouldn't have and built a high end gaming pc.It's destroyed my life in every way possible.I do not know what to do.

" If gaming is a real addiction, then you probably will experience some withdrawal symptoms. But if you can make it through one day, the next one will be easier.

You may be a person who is unable to limit time on computer games. If you can't, then your best choice is to quit.

This is becoming recognized as an addiction, so your doctor may be able to help or refer you to a therapist.

Don't let it destroy your life.

Good luck :)

" Dark,
turn off the computer and go outside lol!

Just kidding. Maybe some of you guys that have recovered from this can tell Dark how you got started.

I play Wow and Second Life myself. sometimes I get carried away but pretty much I can limit it. If you're unable to limit your play time then it sounds like you need to make some changes.

(Level 44 Troll Hunter on Magtheridon)

Good luck! "

" Read through the posts on here, there are a couple of guys Calus and JoDOe who have conquered this addiction and have some great recommendations.

and go outside! It's spring!

Just a bit of a personal story, my brother was hooked on WoW - that's why I started playing really, because that's the only place I saw him was ingame. The deal with him was, in the game, he was SOMEBODY. He was a level 70 something or other and the leader of a guild. He felt important and had real friends in the game, where in rl he was having a rough time.

He still plays but he is moving back into the real world now and only playing about an hour a day. That's reasonable.

Good luck!

" Sad thing is,I have no friends in the RL because all I want to do is game so I can avoid dealing with things and so people don't give me crap.At least in game I can put ppl on ignore or have em banned.I'm sad;I know. "

" That IS a sad situation, but it doesn't mean you're a bad person. You're still young and you can change if you want to.

If there is an adult education program in your town, you could sign up for a free GED review course and start working on getting your diploma. That would get you out of the house for a couple hours a day too.

Do you live alone?
