Saving Animals @ Animals Sanctuaries

I have been a vegetarian for 14 years. My friend and her boyfriend have been vegetarian's for several years and vegans for 6 months or so now. My boyfriend was just telling me that they are going on vacation to farm sanctuaries. Now I think that we are going to go.

I volunteer all day Saturdays at an animal adoption center where a lot of the animals were neglected, abused, or feral, but I never feel like I do enough to help the causes that I really believe in.

Here is a great cause for all of you that want to make a difference in the lives of animals. There are animal santuaries in New York and California, (still spreading)that rescue abused farm animals and keep them on these farms, so that they can live good lives, and die natural deaths. It is sucha wonderful place. Volunteers can help out, take care of the animals for a period of time and stay on the property for a very low cost. The santuaries require vegan eating, which is easy enough and the more people that donate their time and money, the bigger chance of this system growing, spreading, and saving more and more animals.

If you love animals and you want to help a good cause, this is a great one for vegans and vegetarians.

Perhaps I am rambling, but I think that people here who share in my love for animals and contributing to their lives and well-being might be interested in saving abused animals as well.

" http://www.thepetitionsite.com/ This is a site where you can sign petitions to help animals. I adopted my puppy from the Humane Society and I plan on volunteering when I can. We have animal shelters but not any farm sanctuaries that I know of. I think thats great though, and I hope more farm sanctuaries develop across the country and world. Also if you want to help animals you can go to the PETA website and they will sned you free newsletters, news, and updates in which you can help animals by donating time, money, or writing letters, etc. They sent me a vegetarian starter kit, some stamps, and even stickers that say "Stop animal cruelty" "Boycott this product" "Stop animal testing" etc that you can stick on things to get the word out. I love animals too and will do anything to help them. ") Best wishes. "
