1)Vasectomy reversal is done by a procedure called a vasovasostomy. 2)This is a microsurgical technique that reconnects the vas deferens on both sides. 3) The success rate of this procedure depends upon the condition of the vas, and it is less successful the longer the time that has elapsed since the vasectomy. 4) If sperm antibodies have developed, they also may reduce fertility after vasovasostomy. 5) In the United States, vasectomy reversal is not covered by most insurance plans. 6) Three years or less after vasectomy, reversal is successful about 76 percent of the time, while after fifteen years or more it is successful about 30 percent of the time.
