I joined this site, but it seems like there hasn't been much recent discussion. I am having symptoms and am terrified that I have vaginal cancer. Is anyone there? I just need to talk.

" Hi (((tee)))) I have not been around much lately due to some health issues. Hopefully we will all get better at coming her for the support that we all need, so, so much.

Can I ask what your symptoms are? Have you seen a doctor? You have my prayers and support. We have some awesome people here at Daily Strength...and I don't want you to feel overlooked.
((hugs))

" Hi Ella! Thanks so much for responding! I'm sorry you have been having health issues.

I am spotting and having pain. I saw a PA who said, prior to examining me, that it was probably just due to drying because I hadn't taken any hormones after my hysterectomy seven months ago and that taking the hormones would help. AFTER examining me, she said NOT to take the hormones and that I have a growth. She said not to worry about it, but to get in to see a Gyn as soon as I could. My Gyn is out of the country, so I am seeing someone else in two weeks.

I had a suspicious mole removed/biopsied from my shoulder yesterday. In June, I had shingles and a six foot fall when a ladder collapsed under me. Now this.

Thanks again for replying and for your prayers. I will keep you in my too.
:)
Teesa "

" I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I had vaginal cancer and completed chemo/rads in March this year. I am in full menapause, so I am taking HRT (Prempro), what were you taking? Just curious, as my gyno/oncologist isn't worried about it as long as the HRT is short term 12-18 months, he said it wasn't anything to worry about and my cancer wasn't hormone driven. "

" Hi Alone and...
I was taking Prempro before my hysterectomy and then was prescribed 1/2 strength Estrotest after the surgery. I didn't take it, but now am having hot flashes and crying jags, so it might be time...except I have to wait to see what's going on "up there".
Congratulations on completing you chemo/rad therapies. That wasn't fun, I bet. How was your cancered discovered and did you have symptoms (if you don't mind me asking this)?
Take good care. I'm thinking of you and I appreciate your response! Tee "

" Sorry for taking so long to respond. I had absolutely no symptoms. My tumor was an incidental finding by the gyno on an annual exam, then my pap came bacl HSIL, so they thought it was advanced cervical cancer. Which thank goodness it was only localized in the upper part of my vagina.

And chemo/rads really wasn't that bad. Very doable. I have no lasting side effects. Sex isn't painful and very minimal scar tissue in the vagina from the rads.

Please let me know how you are doing and what they find out from your biopsy. This is a rare cancer and it is hard to find others who have experienced it. "
