" I had a radical hemi-vulvectomy on 3/15/06. They took the lip, some tissue, four lymph nodes and part of the vagina. I recovered well from the surgery, but now I have quite a lot of rock-hard scar tissue now that I am going to PT to help stretch out. It has caused difficulty with my walking and causes me a lot of pain.

Recommendations: Start stretching as soon as the stitches heal. Take vitamin E. Consult a PT early on even if your doctor doesn't bring it up. Be proactive. I know you get sick of going to the doctor, but this is very hard for me right now and it didn't need to be this way. "
