I myself had Uterine Cancer as well...almost the same as you....what my doctor told me was that the uterus is very thick and it would take awhile for even agressive cells to penetrate the uterus....because the Cancer is contained within the uterus there is a better chance that as long as surgery is done as soon as possible that everything will be fine....as was in my case. I missed 2 years of getting a pap test...when I did get one done the number of cancer cells was extremely high...the doctor figured there was a good chance that cells had entered into my uterus...which they did...however after my biopsy was performed it confirmed that there were some cancer cells present in my uterus...so my doctor scheduled a Hysterectomy 4 weeks later...even after waiting 4 weeks the aggressive cells were not able to penetrate the uterus....reason I had to wait for surgery for 4 weeks was because I had a biopsy...and they cann't schedule 2 surgeries so close together...both those procedures are considered major surgery...no surgeon would do that...I am sure once you have the surgery you will be fine....the surgeon will know more once the surgery is performed...most uterine cancers caught early enough can be corrected by surgery....due to the fact that the uterus is an enclosed organ....would take alot for cancer cells to penetrate outside the uterus. I was only 34 when I was diagnosed...and I still went for screenings once a year for 5 years....I didn't have to...but it was for my own peace of mind....good luck to you and let me know how things go...God Bless!

I'm so sorry for your dx. It is a very scary situation. It may be helpful to you to know that I had very heavy bleeding for nearly a year before my uterine cancer dx. Even with that amount of time, the tumor had not escaped the uterine wall yet. Unfortunately for me, some cells did escape to a lymph node. However, yours was caught early. As Kathy said, it is mostly likely that surgery will get it all. It is a slow growing cancer. You're going to make it through. I know it. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
